Description:
SurfaceTargetDirector is a target-control and surface-capture utility for Virt-A-Mate. It lets you preview and capture exact surface points on bodies, objects, or scene geometry, then use those captured points as targets for controlled atoms, empty targets, eye target controls, sequence movement, or autofocus / DOF setups.
The plugin started as an eye-target helper, but has grown into a broader target-routing tool. It can be used for eye control, camera focus targets, animated scanning patterns, object tracking, or any setup where you want an atom or empty to move toward saved anchor points.
Main Features:
- Surface Preview system for aiming at body/object surface points.
- Capture Hotkey for saving anchor points.
- Captured marker dots so you can see saved points.
- Anchor Targets page for direct target movement.
- Sequenced Targets page for scanning or multi-point movement.
- Autofocus Points page for moving a separate AutoFocusPoint empty.
- Controlled Targets dropdown for choosing what the plugin drives.
- Auto-created _ControlledTargets_Main empty for simple Person eye-target setups.
- Legacy _EyeTarget_Main compatibility for older scene setups.
- Plugin Enabled checkbox that pauses preview/control without deleting saved captures.
- Clean Help / Info page with basic setup instructions.
Basic Use:
- Add the plugin to a Person if you want it to create and control a target empty for that Person, or add it directly to the object / atom / empty you want to move.
- For Person eye control, set the Person Auto Behaviours Eye Target to:
Custom -> _ControlledTargets_Main -> Control - Open Anchor Targets, leave Surface Preview enabled, aim at the point you want to capture, then press the selected Capture Hotkey.
- Use Anchor Mode, Sequenced Targets, or Autofocus Points depending on what you want to control.
Example of a set of sequence targets being set using surface capture
tool. This was for a realistic sequence of eye movements from the
other person in the scene while looking at her face. No one just
looks at one dead spot while looking at someone.
This shows the effect of those set targets/anchors in play, only using
the default settings for weight/hold percentages. Also demonstrates,
the surface that the targets/anchors where captured on can be
animated/moved without losing their locked position
This is just to show how easy triggers are to set in timeline or wherever
you need to call triggers. Set up the trigger once, then copy/paste/edit
so no more calling hundreds of on/off/weight/hold % triggers that just
put load on your scenes performance.
If you would like to show me any support for future development of plugins and scenes, I have a Patreon for a small donation tier. Or a thumbs up would be great.
