• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Munchy Reshade

I have been using ReShade with VAM for a long time and have had many presets throughout, tweaking constantly to try and find the best shaders that compliment VAM. This preset is the result of that work, and I believe it is my best one yet. I don't know if I would call it the best preset overall compared to others as looks are subjective, but I felt it was good enough to share with all of you. Below you will find the requirements to make your scenes look the same as the pictures below. These have not been edited in any way. My previous guide should help a bit with setting it up as not much has changed.

Requirements

Latest ReShade Version (Version at time of creation is 6.3.3)
Complete RT 1.5
Desktop Mode

As a warning, this preset with everything enabled can be quite heavy, so Complete RT can be disabled to gain back some FPS. I don't believe it is compatible with VR as even if you got it working the performance would probably be too low. I can generally get around 60 FPS on normal scenes with 1 person but multiple person scenes and lots of movement can be tricky so it's best suited for static scenes in my opinion.

My System Specs

AMD Ryzen 7800X3D
NVIDIA RTX 4090
64GB DDR5 6000MHz
4K 144Hz IPS + 4K 165Hz OLED

Additional Information

Please understand not everything in this preset may be to your liking so feel free to edit it to suit your tastes. I have numpad shortcuts for certain shaders I sometimes like to mess with or experiment in case you were wondering why those are set up. An example of the Cel Shader can be found in the last image. Balancing the color and bloom is one of the hardest things to get right with presets and different creators use different lighting or effects for their scenes. I found a lot of presets had way too much exposure or over saturation, so I have dialed it in to be more compatible with vanilla assets. No extra plugins were used to achieve the look in the photos, although your free to use something like body smoother which helps a little.

I will probably be editing this preset some more in the future so I may have updates if I find another breakthrough. I may also make an update to my Cell shade preset as it is easier to run and provides a different look.
