• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

This update adds the new Gabriel 43 series of effects, with this update adding 8 additional effects in total. This is a relatively small update, but it packs a big punch. The Gabriel 43 effect and its variants include some of the most visually intense particle effects that I have created to date. A new demo scene is included titled "a particle storm." The demo scene includes Gabriel 43e far out in front and high above. This effect is loaded with the CUA atom rotated sideways to demonstrate how this orientation impacts the spin of the effect. Behind you will be the Gabriel 43g effect with an interesting particle shower, and directly in front of you will be Gabriel 43f. Gabriel 43f has to be experienced to be understood. I hope that Gabriel 43f, and all the updates, make for an exhilarating experience. Please note that Gabriel 43 has the same control limitations as explained in the previous update.

Anyone who knows @pogdaddy knows someone who is kind, supportive and funny. You also know that Pogdaddy has an animated gif for every occasion imaginable. One of these animated gifs is a famous muppet frog twirling around violently and shooting electrical blasts out of his mouth. This funny image gave me an idea for the five particle effects included in Version 4 for this particle pack.

The set of effects in this update are constructed in a manner similar to how I created the Tinkerbell effect. This method means that where you put the CUA atom in your scene will set the general starting location of the effect, but then it does pretty much whatever it wants to do after that point. Because of this, these particle effects restart every 60 seconds, so that it doesn't wander off too far. If you reposition the CUA while it is running, it won't make a significant change towards the new location unless you toggle the atom off/on or wait for its own refresh cycle. These effects use random seeds, so what you see at any given time is truly unique. These effects should prove interesting in VR because of the many different angles being generated as the particles shower outwards.

I did notice that changing the angle of the CUA atom will change the spin angle for most of these effects. Also, moving the CUA atom around will have an indirect increases motion on the core particle and will increase the production rate of the particles as well. The method of implementation of these effects means that changing the scale of the CUA will only change individual particle size, it will not change the overall scale of the effect.

A new demo scene is included "angels" which demonstrates 3 of the 5 particle effects.

This update adds 16 new pink spherical 3D particle effects. These effects are rather large by default, but please remember that all effects are scalable in size, so you could easily size these effects down for some magical orb effects. If you would like different colors, please remember the VFX Editor, I have a tutorial here.

This update also adds a new demo scene to quickly view some of the new effects, the scene is called "when stars fall down."

This update adds 16 new particle effects for a total now of 33 effects in this set.

Two of the new effects are illustrated in the new demo scene "Whatever particles you want."

I leave the other particle effects for your exploration. I hope that you enjoy these effects as much as I enjoyed creating them.
