Plugins FreeMMD (ALPHA)

I love your plugins, are you still tweaking/ updating this plugin as an export feature would be handy to save custom movements and had an option to move more than one model.

I'm glad you like the plugins. This plugin has not been touched or thought about in a long time and is covered in cobwebs (very approriate for the Halloween season).

It is really hard to get this MMD stuff right and I struggled with it to the point of just being frustrated with writing this to be honest - especially since all of this I do for fun and not a job.

Very unlikely that I will work on this more as a result. If you find someone who wants to just take it over that would be perfectly fine. The github repository is public and I would take no offense.

Great, this will add even more popularity to VaM, once it is polished. Keep on and don't give up! This plugin has the potential to become very famous!

Pros :
1 - (Functionality) : Hey, it works! At least to play dances.
2 - (Free) : No bullshit "manually-made-single-machine-only" licenses for a plugin to a software here! Take notes, ZHFX!

Cons :
1 - (Need to manually t-pose) : You'll need from my limited experiences with this, to every time you want to play a different dance, to make the girl t-pose again and again.
2 - (Navigation hurdles) : The navigation panel for seeking vmd files could be improved (maybe like .bvh player, instead of pointing by default to the .var itself, point to a default folder in saves).
3 - (Not fluid) :As other people pointed out, the animation itself is janky.

Overall, not quite there, but I'll look behind the ugly, after all it's a alpha so it's understandable. If I find any bugs/quirks, I'll be sure to report back. Godspeed you legend.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will add in the easier ideas and rerelease. Keep the feedback coming.

And yes very janky movements right now. Sorry for the janky. Un-janking is hard and will take some experimenting.

I have respect for ZHFX version of plugin.

It's a good start! It works but definitely lots of refining to do. Right now, the animations are quite.... ballparky compared to the actual dance on MMD. They are definitely recognizable but often look hilariously goofy! As of writing, the other MMD plugin option (paid), is more fleshed out.

Regardless, it's nice to see an open-source and free plugin that can play MMD stuff! I look forward to seeing this project flourish.

Would be helpful if the developer included a sampling of the vmd/wav files that were used for testing in the default directory of the plugin.

I will see if I can find some example VMD and music that are licensed ok for bundling.

Amazing to see it. I have create by myself around 50 Motions over the years for MMD. Hope this tool get better around the time.
Actually it looks like, it have a lot of problems with the legs. But looking forward to it and I'm really happy about this easy translation from mmd to vam

Finally a free and open source direct MMD for VaM. I love open sources because they help others learn and contribute.

I would prefer this any day over that other one where what you pay for will not work when you upgrade your pc. Basically, if you upgrade your pc (everyone will) and the author has disappeared (and he will at some point, who knows...,) what you have bought becomes useless. Security protection my bottom... It's a little plugin running inside another in-progressed game for goodness sake.

This is an alpha but she's moving and the music is playing so it's a good start.
