Fjäldr was the oldest daughter of Jarl Thorgard Bonelord of Kaldfjord, one of the minor coastal tribes that lived on nothing but piratical raiding. Her father was known for his huge sexual appetite and prowess and could fuck ten women in one night. Fjäldr had five brothers of which Thorvild, who was to inherit the Jarldom, was the oldest. Because in Northman culture, women were not allowed to inherit, upon coming of age, Fjäldr instead joined the prestigious Monastery of Geiser Lake.
The nuns formed an elite military unit called "The Valkyries". There were about a hundred Valkyries living at the monastery and they were led by the "Höch Mästarinn", the High Mistress. The Valkyries were divided into groups of ten that were often sent in where the fighting was most fierce, or sent on deep infiltration raids, for the Valkyries fought with great skill and extreme rage. The Valkyries fought naked, protected by nothing but stoneskin spells, even in extreme cold, for their bodies were hardened and the very sight of the muscular Valkyries tattooed with heathen runes, made the blood chill in their enemies. The Valkyries were often tasked with fighting the threats from the frozen north such as the tribes of Reavers, Goblins and Ice Men that were roaming and raiding, but also beasts like Ice Wolves, Sabretooth Tigers and Ice Wraiths. The wars in the north were endless.
Lastly, with wild, unstoppable berserker rage boiling in her blood and with the blessing of the goddess Thua, Fjäldr stood over the first one, still laying there in painful anguish, took his cock off the ground and shoved it down his throat. "You wanted your cock sucked today, Ismann," she said. "So now enjoy!" Whereupon she watched him slowly choke to death. Upon Fjäldr's return to the monastery and on hearing of her heroic deeds in battle, the Valkyries celebrated and songs were sung about the day when Fjäldr bit the Ice Man's cock off.
Fjäldr means "mountains" in her language.

The Nordic religion is barbaric and warlike, with infernal gods often demanding human sacrifice. The principal god of the Nordic religion is Wothann, the creator god, with lesser deities around him, like the goddess Thua. In the very north of the land, a religious order maintains "The Great Meadhall", which is a location of great religious importance, attracting pilgrimage. There is a monastery for warrior nuns on an island in the Great Geiser Lake.
The only power that resembles what we would call a state or a kingdom is found in the fertile Ur River Valley where an Earl, or in their tongue, Jarl, rules as lord. The hot springs further up the Ur River heat the surrounding land making the soil fertile for farming. The town of Urfjord, the seat of the River Valley Jarldom, is the most populated location in the Northland, with palaces, temples, trading posts, all built out of wood. Foreign ships is not an uncommon sight in the harbour. Trade in fur and tar is especially lucrative but also slaves and artifacts from the frozen glaciers of the far north is traded.
The land is bounded by the great frozen, impassable glaciers in the north, which are inhabited by all manner of wild beasts, Reavers and Goblins. To the east the great Eastern Ocean, to the west, the Great Hammir River and to the south, The Ice Sea (which we call the Northern Sea). The coastline is cut open by large fjords, walled by immense mountains providing natural defensible harbours for the Northmen. The land is dominated by immense, deep woods. One of the large wooded areas in the land is called "The Eternal Night Forest" because it is so dark that not even during daytime there's any light. The woods are inhabited by aggressive wolves, witches and trolls. There are several lakes and rivers inland, but most of them are frozen. Except for the small patches in the south as well as the River Valley, the land is always covered in snow and ice and extremely inhospitable.
