This usually would have been a pure bugfixing release. But since I already proceeded with the development of AudioMate in the meantime and didn't want to roll back much of the code, I decided to include a feature that was originally planned for the next bigger release.
It's called Collection Layers.
The concept is pretty simple: you can assign a layer, which is basically just a number, to each collection. If that collection gets triggered, it only plays if no other collection on a higher layer (means: with a higher number) is playing.
If you don't need that feature or want to override it for certain collections, you can simply enable the "Ignore Layers" setting.
Features:
Bugfixes:
- Collection Layers
- In shuffle mode, the last clip of a collection is never played.
- Hint texts are not displayed correctly since AudioMate version 18.
Here is the newest AudioMate version. I've completely rewritten the trigger system and added some powerful new features.
Since AudioMate now doesn't use the trigger actions of the Person Atom it is attached to, you wont see your previously created trigger actions in AudioMate anymore - but they will still work. I still recommend to delete those trigger actions manually and create new ones in AudioMate, if you want to update your scenes.
Backup your scenes before loading a new version of AudioMate!
Features:
Bugfixes:
- New Trigger System
AudioMate now has a built in trigger system that is indiviudally tied to each collection.
- Volume Triggered Morphs
Bind morphs to collections. As many as you want. They get triggered with each play of the collection and can be finetuned with a multiplier and a quickness slider.
- Clip Filter
Hide assigned or unassigned clips in the clip library.
- New Collection Actions
PlayNextClip
PlayPreviousClip
PlayCurrentClip
ResetClipIndex
Enable/DisableCollection
SetActiveCollection
- New Settings
Directly add imported files to the active collection
Show a button to delete clips from the scene in the clip library
- Improved Multiselect Tool in the Clip Library
Add 10, 20 or a custom number of clips to a collection with one click
- Load From Scene
Load AudioMate setups from other scenes directly into your current scene
General:
- Adding a collision trigger to the scene causes an error when exporting collections
- Giving a new collection the same name as an existing one overwrites the collection
- The Clear button also removes the clip library UI of clips that were in the cleared collection
- Optimized / updated UI
- Many under the hood improvements that improve the overall performance
Another mini-update, but that log message was just too annoying to ignore it.
Bugfixes:
- [FIXED] A debug message has made it into the production version of AudioMate and is now flooding the VaM log.
Hello again,
that was quick, I know.
But I found a bug that made the new "Play Only If This Collection Is Not Playing" setting kind of useless. So that needed a quick fix.
If you missed the last update post (Version 12): that's where you'll find infos about the new features and improvements.
Bugfixes:
- [FIXED] Activating "Play Only If This Collection Is Not Playing" makes a Collection ignore other Collections, but it does not stop it from overlapping itself.
- [FIXED] The last played clip index is updated too early.
Happy Halloween my friends!
I'm very happy to be able to gift you the next version of my audio plugin AudioMate today.
A lot of time and energy went into this update and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
If you want the update cycles to be shorter and to have a saying in what features I will develop next, then please consider supporting me on my Patreon page.
A big shoutout and many thanks to my few, but also very consistent Patrons! ❤
IMPORTANT: I've tested this version as good as one man is able to test but please don't add this plugin to your new big scene you've been working on for the last 3 months without making a backup first!
As always, please report any bugs you find on the Hub's discussion page for this plugin.
New Features:
- New Collection setting: Auto Play
As the name suggests, this causes the Collection to automatically start playing on scene load.
- New Collection setting: Continuous Play
If this setting is enabled the Collection will continue playing clip after clip after it has been triggered at least once.
- New Collection setting: Play Only If This Collection Isn't Playing
This is a neat one. If this is activated, the Collection will only play a clip if no other clip of the Collection is currently playing. It ignores the playback of other Collections on the same Audio Source though.
Example: Let's say you have a breathing loop you want to play every time no other clip is playing on a Person Atoms Head Audio Source. But you also want moans from another Collection to interrupt the breathing sound whenever that other Collection is triggered. You can do that easily and without additional Audio Sources now.
Simply enable Continuous Play and Play Only If Audio Source Is Clear for the breathing Collection and Play Only If This Collection Isn't Playing for the moans Collection - that's it!
- New global setting: Display Hints
Adds a few explanations to sections that I often get asked about. If you want to enable it, you'll find the setting on the Global tab.
Updates:
- Lots of performance, UI rendering and stability optimizations
- Tab Settings has been renamed to Global
- Filter Col. button in the Clip Library has been renamed to Hide Unused
- Minor UI changes
Bugfixes:
- [FIXED] Renaming the containing Atom doesn't rename the Audio Source Receivers of a Collection.
- [FIXED] In Shuffle Mode, clips are being replayed too early (before all other clips in the collection have been played).
- [FIXED] If Shuffle Mode is deactivated, clips are still being played randomly.
- [FIXED] If a Collection is being renamed not all Trigger Actions are renamed as well.
- [FIXED] The "Delete Unused" button doesn't work as expected (delete all Scene clips that are not assigned to a Collection)
- [FIXED] AudioMate sometimes gets stuck after scene load and doesn't load all components.
- [FIXED] The Clip Library doesn't always update when audio files were added or removed.
- [FIXED] The Clip Cursor doesn't work as intended. It's meant to mark the last played clip in the Clip Library and can be used as a starting point to add 10, 20 or all clips to the active Collection.
- [FIXED] .amc files that have been saved in older AudioMate versions can not be loaded in newer versions.
- [FIXED] Audio files with uppercase file extensions aren't imported.
Known Issues:
- The AudioMate Demo Scene hasn't been updated to the new version yet.
Bugfixes:
- [FIXED] Removing Trigger Actions in AudioMate does not work. (Tab "Collection")
Features:
- New filter Clips by Collection button in the Clip Library.
If activated, the Clip Library shows only Clips assigned to the currently active Collection. (Tab "Clip Library")
I know - It's been a while.
The good news is that I finally found the time to finish the next AudioMate version.
Not many new features have been implemented though. It's mostly a stability and bug fixing update.
The bad news is that since I'm doing this in my spare free time and my job basically eats up all my development enthusiasm, I can't really tell you when the next update will be released.
I have a lot of good ideas and got tons of useful input from you guys, but it has been hard to find time and energy for a free project like AudioMate lately.
So keep that in mind, if you decide to use this plugin in your scenes: it doesn't have guaranteed long-time support.
If you want to push the development forward, you can support me on my Patreon page.
