DEV NOTES
I was an MMD VMD Player user for years, mainly loving its ease-of-use implementation. However, since it seems to have stopped development, I took matters into my own hands (along with Claude) to address the issues I wanted solved over the years, mainly a better vmd motion translation, and to ditch the BepInEx dependency.
To avoid ending up with the same motion translation results, the project started from scratch, analyzing 2,500+ vmd motion files on the MMD TDA rig, compared to the VaM rig, and went through a standard motion transfer process, without referencing other plugins' code. While I'm happy with the results brought by this implementation decision, it came at a cost of not have the same coverage as other plugins do, but I intend to close the gaps over time. So, kindly excuse the potential bugs while it's being worked on, and your bug reports will greatly help the journey.

Getting started
- Add the plugin to a character (or to Scene Plugins).
- Position your character's root on the floor (adjust Y axis).
- Click "Load MMD Folder" and choose a folder with your MMD dance and music files. Each character gets a dance automatically.
- Press ▶.
What it does
- Fits every body. Tall, short, slim or curvy: the dance is fitted to each character, so feet stay on the floor and hands land where the dancer meant them to.
- Several dancers at once. Each character can have their own dance and facial expressions, all in sync.
- Stays inside your room. Dance Space notices walls and furniture and shortens how far the dancer travels, so they stay in the room. Arms, kicks and turns keep their full size. You can see the space the dance uses and adjust each direction yourself.
If maximum shortened travel distance won't fit the space, the exact timestamp of the motion and visual is provided to move your dancer or the obstacles.
- Dance for Me. Have the dancer perform right in front of you, or around any object in the scene.
- Plays with Scene Animation, so you can add lights, effects and camera moves of your own. Use VaM subscene to keep in sync with the Scene Animation as well as ease of save and load subscene presets.
- Built-in help. The "?" tab answers common questions.
