Thank you for this! I still have my original, bloated 300GB install from two-and-a-half years ago, and I've wanted to do a new install but I've been dreading the tedious task of selectively copying what I want to keep. This has given me a good head start and now I"m on my way.

I've been waiting to install the newest version until I could plan out an install like this. This made it simple and easy. Thanks much!

This is a great idea. I currently have 4 installs at various stages of bloat. From completely clean (for final var testing) to everything I've ever downloaded. It makes a huge difference in speed so a well populated but clean install is pretty handy. One suggestion though; After downing the initial ~200 vars, move them all into a subfolder in AddonPackages to keep these essentials from getting mixed up with the inevitable bloat. Unless there is some performance reason to leave them in the AddonPackages folder itself?

I'm not sure that the scenes what reference them would find them in a new folder. But I do back up the whole clean install after all the packages are downloaded, so that a reinstall is just a copy and paste of this backup folder.
