Do you think could be possible to use DLSS with VAM 2?
The demos are very impressive, it makes everything more realistic

I was shocked by the Showcase from Nvidia since I watched the presentation Online just like you and a bit curious what the Team here at Vam think.

1. Faces are like early Stable Diffusion models. if you make 100 of them 98 will have the same nose eye and mouth structures where it looks like the same person. Control of the severity of the AI generation model and maybe you can keep your characters art direction or facial features.
2. Lighting in the scenes was also incorrect compared to the original lighting. Faces as an example were always lit even in a scene where no light within that proximity exist.
3. Yes everyone would add this eventually to the scene bar that it won't require a 5090 or two and kinks are worked out at least that's my guess.

How would anyone be able to answer that as it's:
  1. An unavailable tech, which has been announced one day and a half ago.
  2. Not even sure it'll run on specific models or not
  3. Not even sure if Nvidia itself even understand what it does
Meshed has said multiple times that VAM will probably never see proprietary techs implemented... as it would/could fragment user base.
Even tho all Nv declarations are probably bullshit, apparently Neural Faces will be a proprietary tech.

Finally, this is my subjective take: it looks like crap and I don't want this on any of my games.
Especially in VAM where I work with appearances creators I love for their art, and I don't want Nvidia to "ai hallucinate" what they think this characters should look like.

DLSS, FSR, and XeSS are very nice technologies. Many people associate them with “fake frames,” but this isn’t really true. All the frames in upscaling techniques are real, they’re just rendered at a lower resolution to reduce the load on your GPU and then upscaled with AI. These technologies have improved a lot, and they work well in many games.

But I didn’t expect Nvidia to go this far with DLSS 5. Don’t get me wrong, I was looking forward to neural rendering, but I always thought it would be a separate technology, with textures, assets, and models made specifically for it. Even so, in the tech demos, the textures look really good, but the faces look like they’re coming from an AI model that generates pictures, and I don’t like that.

If DLSS4 or even 5 being added without Neural Rendering, and then add Ray Reconstruction with Ray-tracing or Path-tracing, you could already make insane realistic scene's, so you don't really need Neural Rendering to be honest.

Come on, guys, let's get this thread moving—is anyone testing it out yet?
Managed to make it work in VAM1 using a working DLSS upscaler mod that someone made in arca.live virtamate channel and had to use a modified reshade addon to get dlss5 working, peformance gets cut in half which is expected but the quality is insane, im not really good at lighting and this is the best example i tried to give a difference. Ran it at 2560x1440 DLAA,

Yes it is a staggeringly good improvement alright. I came to forum here after hearing all the DLSS5 content now the DLSS5 library DLL was leaked and basically hacked to make use of it with Reshade... and as long as Reshade is usable in VAM, then it obviously is possible... only thing I don't know is if it works in VR or not.

I can understand if a developer posts a link, but can you take responsibility for posting that link?
If you have any respect for the plugin developer, I think you should refrain from acting or speaking recklessly.

Please, I’m begging for a step-by-step explanation with links, for total dummies like me... I try, but I just can't get it to work... It’s very frustrating. Please.

the dlss bridge dosnt work no matter what even without the dlss5 files , it always makes vam black screen on both fsr and dlss

What graphics card are you using? I'm wondering if DLSS 5 is only supported on RTX 40‑series and 50‑series GPUs.

It won't work with VR mode - results in black screen - the VAM DLSS Bridge does not support it. Only desktop mode does work and It looks great, especially faces and lighting feel more natural, very promising!

This will be a controversial thing for a long time.
*grabs popcorn*
I can see why people critque it for destroying the artistic style. But at the same time it is an unofficial leak and obviously *intended* to be used for realistic style games.
So in my book poeple are judging it for it looking bad on games with completly different style is dumb and many content creators are just jumping on a hate train to grab attention and clicks/views.

BUT if I see the first creator only uploading an ugly "dummy" model acting as AI-pre-render-helper to VaM Hub and requiring and expecting me to please WASTE 50% of our GPUs compute power just make it "realistic" - because the creator lacks the basic artistic skills to actually create content - then I WILL downrate it!
I can see DLSS 5 opening the floodgates for AI only looks soon ...
