If I create a character using multiple morphs, but one of them was paid for, the rest are able to be shared (for nonprofit), or base game morphs. Then I use a morph merger to condense it all into one. Am I allowed to share it even though the paid morph is unrecognizable?

You don't want to offset your vertices too close to the way another person offset the vertices. They painstakingly moved those vertices around for like an hour probably and people will easily be able to tell they're uniquely placed among all the other active morphs.

Merging morphs of different licenses is called license washing and could result in restrictions to your account, up to and including a ban. If you merge CC BY-NC morphs, for example, and release your model CC BY, then you have effectively erased the license of the original morph. Many creators use hidden tags inside their morphs so that they can be identified even if they become merged. We take reports of this type of merging very seriously.

What are these hidden tags? Other than group, category, and maybe author, it seems like VaM omits most of the metadata from DAZ. The morph merging plugins I've seen also let you change those as far as I know. If multiple morphs are affecting the same vertices, and it becomes unrecognizable as op mentioned, what is there left of the originals in the end?

yeah it's ok I've gone back and started trying to recreate using base morph and free morphs. if I eventually do post I will keep all the morphs viewable.

I fully support copyright for a lot of the stuff that creators make, I also do support a few of them. When it comes to plugins, clothing, entire scenes etc, it makes perfect sense that this can be copyrighted and not redistributed or added to. However when it comes to poses and morphs that to me is a gray area. If I make a character stand there doing the peace sign, copyright it, then put it behind a paywall, and nobody else can modify or use it in their own way that seems a bit silly. If I make a character smile in a certain way and do exactly the same again this does seem a bit silly. Just be clear I agree with the rest and I do support some of these creators.

Don't use other people's morphs without permission unless you are sure the license allows it. I assure you, identifying information can be left behind by the morph creator.

If you aren't sure where your morph originated, please don't use it.

Poses can be a grey area. Morphs are not.

What information though? Would be helpful for other creators to know if this is supposed to be common knowledge.
