How do you reset the key bindings on the vam config bat file? There's no "revert to defaults" button on there and the changes you made actually CARRY OVER to other vam versions too if you check other version's .bat files. Try deleting the .bat file and replace it wiith the one from the original .zip folder and it still has the changes made it in it which you're stuck with.

For context i'm using my quest 2 through virtual desktop on windows 10, I've tried to change some controller bindings and since my pc doesn't register the controller inputs I can't change it back to for instance, - ButtonA as "joystick button 0" as it was before

Delete Vam(config).bat. Or, optionally, rename it to "old Vam(Config).bat" so you'll still have access to it if you later find you want it. Then run vam_updater.exe. Go to "options" and click "sync/Repair all". That will recreate the stock version of the file.

Thanks for replying, I have tried fixing the core before first and then as you suggested, but to no avail. It still has the change made it in despite having made a new .bat file. I even updated to the latest version from 1.22.0.3 to 1.22.0.13 after trashing the folder's contents besides vam.exe and then running the vam updater. I dont know why I only left the vam.exe but I thought that the keybind changes must be recorded somewhere in either the folders or the files themselves.

At this point i'm beginning to believe I may have to reinstall windows over such a menial key bind change lol

It's almost never necessary to reinstall windows just because you have some program that doesn't do what you want. It almost never helps either.

The contents of my stock vam(config).bat is one line:

START "VaM" VaM.exe -show-screen-selector

I don't think vam(config).bat is your problem. Keybindings are somewhere else, outside of Vam. I know for me they're in SteamVR, are you using that? Open SteamVR settings from inside VR.

Do you have any session plugins that always load? This constantly causes people mysterious problems they can't figure out till they check that.

yeah thats my guess too, also no I don't use steamVR cause it tanks performance in my case, I just hit VaM (OpenVR).bat through virtual desktop streamer app on pc typically.

By any chance would you know how to reliably invert/swap right controller inputs to the left controller and the left controller inputs to the right? i.e. use right hand controller as if it was mapped with left hand controls on VaM? cause that was my original idea until I missclicked and mapped "ButtonA" as "left mouse" in the VaM(config) input tab lol

Well now that I tried to reinstall VaM twice, this time only leaving VaM_updater in the folder, I can say with certainty that there were no session plugins running or even located in the directory at all
