VaM 1.x Stuck on "Paused - Waiting For: Character Load: Evey"- but there is no Evey in the scene?

As title - I looked through all my people and no-one has that name HOWEVER one had it before I edited it.

It's tanking the FPS of my scene and making it very frustrating - does anyone have any fixes?

Evey could be the skin name and not the person atom name.
Fixes come after identifying the cause. Given that your other fog post is also quite unusual and is related to one specific scene, is this for the same scene?

I restarted in the same environment but it always seems to be based on things I add. I'll check skins tomorrow but if not I'll delete the characters one by one and see if that fixes it.

Evey is the skins name. It is a built in one which you can't (and shouldn't) delete.

Check the female person atoms 'Skin select' tab and check the selected skin there. Probably Evey is selected.
If you're using diffuse textures in the 'Skin Materials' tab, you actually can't see the selected skin beneath.

Selecting a different skin probably won't solve your problem. What is the actual problem again? (Hard) Stuck on scene load or low fps or long loading time?

Thanks I took a look and because the person started "off" in the scene it was awaiting load. Fixed the issue now!
