Blender Delete Vertices (Basic Question)

Hi to the more advanced Blender users out there.

How can i delete a selection in Edit Mode faster in Blender.
As you can see in the video, i have to select, delete, select, delete again and again
and every time a little bit more gets deleted.

I have had objects, where i could do this more than a 100 times, until the whole selection was deleted.
I'm sure there must be a faster way to do this.
Would be glad, if anyone can help.

Switch to wireframe mode. All other modes work as if your selection only works on "what you see". Wireframe mode selects everything... front faces and back faces.

Toggling X-Ray (Alt+Z) also allows to select through everything. Blender has a lot of ways to select things. EDIT: same for Blender 4.2
