Synthia : Personality & Behavior Engine By Kimowal

So I’ve been pretty quiet on Patreon lately, mostly because I’ve been focused on updating my plugins and building something bigger in the background.

Before I started making plugins, I already had an idea for a real AI-style behavior system for VaM. Now that idea is becoming real.

This is Synthia.

Synthia is a premium behavior engine for VaM that gives your characters personality, reactions, speech, emotion, arousal, and animation-driven behavior, all running locally inside VaM with no AI API needed.

This is not just a speech bubble plugin.
It is a full system designed to make characters feel more alive, more reactive, and more personal, while still being simple enough to use without turning scene setup into a mess.

With Synthia, characters can react to your presence, respond differently to touch, shift mood, build relationship over time, speak contextually, change gaze and breathing, and even trigger linked Animatis animations automatically based on what is happening.

For creators, Synthia is also a flexible tool.
You can shape personality with presets or sliders, create your own custom speech responses, and build behavior that fits your own character style or scene.

What Synthia does

Synthia gives each character a unique personality that drives how they react to your presence, touch, and interactions.

Characters can:

Speak contextually based on what is happening
Change expression, gaze, and breathing dynamically
Build relationship over time from stranger to partner
React to arousal and intimacy with different behavior
Trigger linked Animatis animations automatically
Remember interactions and avoid repeating the same responses too often

The goal is simple, characters should feel less static, less scripted, and more alive.

Core Features

Personality System
13 trait sliders shape how the character behaves:

Shyness, Confidence, Playfulness, Sensuality, Affection, Dominance, Energy, Curiosity, Sadness, Happiness, Fear, Reluctancy, Obedience

10 Built-In Personality Presets
Includes presets like:

Shy Partner, Confident Lover, Playful Tease, Sweet Companion, Submissive, Dominant, Nymphomaniac, Ice Queen, Girl Next Door, Femme Fatale

Custom Personality Presets
Create and save your own personality combinations.

Speech Bubble System
Characters speak contextually based on touch, idle state, proximity, arousal, relationship stage, and more.

Relationship System
Relationship builds over time from stranger to partner, unlocking different responses and behaviors.

Arousal System
Zone-based arousal with personality-aware sensitivity, orgasm handling, and cooldown behavior.

Memory System
Remembers interactions across sessions and helps reduce repetitive responses.

Gaze System
Supports natural eye behavior such as direct eye contact, shyness, flirtatious glances, body scanning, and looking away.

Expression Control
Facial expressions shift dynamically based on mood and arousal.

Breathing Control
Breathing changes from calm to panting depending on state.

Animatis Integration
Synthia can automatically detect Animatis and play linked animations when response presets trigger.

Response Preset System

This is one of the biggest parts of Synthia.

You can create your own custom speech + animation presets and control when they trigger.

Each preset can include:

Speech text
Category, such as greeting, touch, idle, flirt, and more
Linked Animatis animation
Arousal range
Relationship range
Personality filters
Trait value filters
Auto-play toggle
Weighting, to control how often it gets picked

This makes Synthia useful not only as a ready-made system, but also as a creator tool for building your own character behavior.

Utility AI System

Synthia also includes a scoring-based behavior system that drives proactive actions.

This allows characters to do things like:

Idle chatter
Idle flirting
Moaning during high arousal
Encouraging touch
Recognizing repeated touch patterns
Shy reactions like flinching or blushing
Penetration vocals
Gaze shifts
Automatic speech + animation playback when conditions match

So instead of only reacting when something happens, the character can also feel more active and naturally responsive.

Easy To Use

Setup is simple.

Add the plugin to a Person atom, load VamAI.cslist, and the UI opens with tabs for:

Overview
Personality
Responses
Status

From there you can:

Choose a built-in personality preset
Adjust all 13 traits manually
Save your own custom presets
Create speech responses
Link Animatis animations
Set trigger conditions
Preview response presets
Monitor current AI state and utility scores

The goal was not just to make something advanced, but something creators can actually use without fighting the setup.

Animatis Integration

When Synthia and Animatis are on the same atom, Synthia can automatically detect it.

If a response preset has a linked animation, Synthia can:

Load the Animatis preset
Register controllers
Play the selected animation
Show the speech bubble with a short delay for more natural timing

This means you can build characters that not only speak, but also move with intention.

Why I made this

I wanted something that could make VaM characters feel more alive without needing an external AI service, complicated scripting, or endless manual setup.

Synthia is my attempt to build that system directly inside VaM.

It is made both for users who want more lifelike companions, and for creators who want a flexible framework for personality, reactions, and custom behavior.

Still no messages here? How So?! Your looks are stunning! Your Lara is fabulous! Thank you so much for your work!✨
Hey, I found your animation timeline guide really helpful. Your animations are honestly some of the best in VAM. I’m trying to understand how to place keyframes right now and it’s giving me a headache haha.
Hey there! I know you've stated before you'd consider sharing the Zelda BotW model, just was wondering if there's any update on that? If not, no worries! Any chance you'd be willing to share your secret on how you got that model in VAM?
Hey ashu, love the work you do with bringing anime characters to VAM. Not a paid request, more of just a question. Do you know of any good plugins to help getting anime expressions into VAM? I'm looking for stuff more exaggerated like what you would see from artists like Anna Anon and Midorimint who make Koikatsu animations. Whenever I try to adjust facial morphs to get closer to these looks, the adjustments seem to be too subtle and always get overridden by other expression plugins. But yeah anyway, I come to you since no one does anime in VAM better than yourself.

You'll need to create the expression shapekeys yourself for now. However, I do plan to make a standard set of MMD shapekeys in the future.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the response, will definitely stay tuned for whatever you cook on that.
