To promote uploading content to the Hub while still supporting an external link, we have added the ability to add a promotional link to your resources, as shown here:

If you choose the upload file option and fill out the Promotional Link field, others looking at your resource will then see this:

We would like to encourage everyone to upload their free VARs to the Hub and use the promotional link. Soon, this will grant you an additional "Hub-Hosted VAR" tag for your resource and also increase your chances of having the resource featured. It will also allow the upcoming in-game VAR download system to work with your content more easily. Externally hosted VARs will require users to click more links to get your content in-game. Externally hosted VARs will also not work with the auto-download system. Content that is easier to get will be promoted higher inside VaM than content that requires more work for the user. We will be looking at options to display the promotional link while download is occurring so you can still get a view while getting the benefits of a Hub-hosted file.
