This is absolutely fucking amazing!
I've just been experimenting with an older plugin that does a similar function and hats off to the developer of that lovely plugin, but I feel it is now surpassed by this one in almost every way.
Genuinely pitch black winter night and sunny summer midday difference, mainly due to actually having control over the lights and the ability to set multiple lights to sync.
I've spent this whole night making a new music video compilation just to test it out and it's soo good!
Only tiny issue I'm having right now is the colors aren't as vivid as I hoped they would be, maxing out saturation or rather going beyond default slider limit only helps a bit. It would be nice if there was some way to get more vivid colours more often rather than mostly warm/cold range colours of the normal lightbulb. There is of course a chance that the videos I've compiled aren't vivid enough themselves, but with that older plugin VideoBiasLight the influence on the light saturation is greater and it's easier to get the result needed. On higher values it would only give the most saturated colour from the RGB range bypassing anything that is not the utmost extreme. That could be very useful indeed.
Also the balance of intensity of lights since it's a bit hard to configure the setup so it does not go "pretty dark, no light, medium light, a little less, a little more.... THINK FAST CHUCKLENUTS!" and then I'm legally blind. Again perhaps it's an issue on my end, rather than the plugin.
Other than those two hiccups I'm having a fantastic experience in my scenes with this plugin, it really feels godsent! 9.5/10

(also please share Plugin/ReShade you're using on demonstration gifs, it's looks insane!)

Great plugin, only request I have is subscene support.
Currently, when the atom this plugin resides in belongs to a subscene, the plugin stops working, would be great if this could be fixed so that a subscene preset can be made.

Mxx updated VideoReactiveLight with a new update entry:

v2 - Better Vividness, better Brightness control + SubScene Support

  • New Vividness slider. Turn it up and the light takes its color from the most colorful parts of the screen instead of the washed-out average of the whole frame.

  • New Intensity Response slider. Below 1, dark scenes and bright flashes get pulled closer together, so the room stops strobing between "pitch black" and "legally blind" on fast cuts. Try 0.5 if the swings bother you.
  • New Max Brightness slider. This is a hard ceiling on how bright the lights can...

I've updated the plugin with both your requests added 😊

No ReShade was used for those gifs. I only used PostMagic for Bloom, and the LUT I used in my scene (BooMoon_LUT_PACK/CC_Lutps22.png) which adds more contrast.

Not really a request as I don't want to impose on your goodwill, but just food for thought if you're interested in developing the plugin further: could be a marvel if there was an offset slider on each of the lights, so they give off different colour. Been testing a lot of footage and it struck me how cool it would be to make a music visualizer based on gradients.
Could be that for instance light1 operates as by default, light2 can be configured to be always offset by R25 G25 B25 or whatever amount user decides.
Or perhaps, and bear in mind I don't know how colour detection works so that might be not an option at all, but maybe divide screen into segments so lights get assigned one and take an average from their respective segments. That would surely be a monster of an update.
Regardless, thanks again for your work, I've been all over it for hours and it is godsent.

Thanks, suggestions are always welcome. I can't promise I'll work on them soon though as I have a lot of other stuff I also want to work on. I'm actually working on a very cool new plugin now for an upcoming scene, so the priority is on that for now.
