Timeline triggers help

As I understand it, the timeline trigger "play" is identical to the "playall button" in the timeline ui. It will play the selected animation an then follow sequencing.

If I want to call a trigger and play the selected animation without sequencing like when you select the play button with the selected animation name on it.

I know there is a trigger to play animations by name but it still follows sequencing when called.

If sequencing isn't set up then the triggers "next animation" and "previous animation" don't seem to work at least not with the following triggers with person 1 being master
person 1 - stop
person 2 - stop
person 1 -next/prev animation
person 1 -play

TL;DR I'm trying to have two buttons that will play the next and previous animations and not follow sequencing and I can't get it to work.

If someone see's what I'm missing or can suggest an alternative solution I'd appreciate it.
