SlimeVR drivers supporting knees - This is a recompile of SlimeVR drivers for Windows that support knees through Camera/Keyboard bindin

These are modified SlimeVR drivers provided by a SlimeVR dev that changes the "hint" for SlimeVR virtual knee trackers to Camera/Keyboard so that SteamVR will see them. The official ones don't work correctly for knee trackers, causing knee trackers to disappear once VaM starts (even when they show in the SteamVR overlay).

hey!

question: would it be possible to add an additional controller like this?

think replacing the controller for hands, and use a slime instead, and a leap for the finger motions to represent the hand, but still have the controller for example for physical link to move your model around

if you use only the leap for hand, it needs to stay inside of what the camera sees. but if you could use the node for position with slimevr, and only the finger morphs with leap, that would be a game changer

IANAE but Slime trackers rely on a very specific model that infers your skeletal pose based on the combined orientation of many slime trackers. You'd need at least 5 and I'm not sure that having a slime in your hand would be something that the tracker would be able to figure out based on the model. Slime trackers don't know anything about where they are located in space, they only know their angle versus the ground. It generally works well with legs and body because it can infer the locations of those based on the angle of the tracker.

well the hand works, the issue is the limitation of vam engine that does not allow more trackers to be added and referenced.... (i.e. having biceps and one on the wrist, and the hand has the extention of a addition sensor like you can use in vrchat.

but with the caviat that a.) it's referenced in vam to actually bound to your model and b.) the hand is extended with the finger via the leap

if that makes any sense ^^

Is it true that you have to recalibrate every time?
Can we do the same movements as the Vive Trackers?
I'm thinking of buying only 5 Trackers or can we put more?
have Pico Trackers and It's not what I expected, I mainly want to use the FBT for mocap

Do not purchase SlimeVR trackers for FBT. Way too much drift. They may work for a few minutes but then the trackers start drifting. I bought some Vive Ultimate Trackers which are expensive and a bit unreliable but the tracking is much better.
