Even for someone who has used VaM from early versions on, I bet there are still quite some options in the voluminous user interface, which you never have used, are unknown or not fully clear. What are exactly the differences between all of those physics settings? What are all of those joint-settings for? What are all those hair colour options? Cloth import, hair generation, animations... Load look, appearance, preset? Can you really explain every single dial, button or checkbox (if "yes" you may be the right guy to write those help texts).
I think, most of us have an approximate idea at best. For a newcomer, this must be overwhelming, and all of those options - figuratively speaking - are jumping in your face on every use.
To begin with, I think a mouse-over help text would be a somewhat big relief.
An other helpful measure could be, to hide even more of those options in subject relevant fold-out submenues. Ideally, you should only see those options you need for a given task and in chewable portions.
