I saved a pose with a look that was lying down on the floor but when I tried to load this pose in another scene the model was generally in the same pose but standing upright instead of lying down. Is there a trick to saving lying down poses so they always come back as lying down on the floor?

All I do is save the Pose and it's always the same be it laying down or standing. Then if I even change looks the new look comes in with same pose or I can click the pose again and it changes to that pose. Also make sure your not hitting the save Look button that's right next to the save pose button. I do that sometimes thinking I've hit the save pose.

I think you need to save the position too. That's off by default.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by that. I don't see anywhere to save "position" in the Pose Preset tab. However, that made me think about checking the "Store Root Node" checkbox and that worked so is that what you meant? Now my laying down pose comes in as laying down each time for every model. :)
