Rainey's VaMMas Special!

Welcome to the seasonal event where I (Rainey) celebrate the community in a special way for the holidays.
This year I'm switching it up a little by doing a focus on six people who I have come to consider friends in real life, not just in VAM.

Each will feature Rainey and a model made by them, and a little description of how we got to talking and where we are now.

Stay tuned, starting on Sunday the 14th you'll get a new set of screenshots and fun little "about" from Rainey and her friends.
Every 2 days up until Christmas Eve will be someone new.

Day 1 - Ark1F1

I (Rainey) have been here with VAM since February 2022. The very first friend I made was @Ark1F1. He was kind from the jump and helped me out a lot!

Ark is the reason we have Elf Month in March - it was his idea in March 2022 and it’s been an annual celebration every year since with great success.
Ark is the reason I gained confidence to start being more active in the community despite being the community manager,
and was one of the main people to introduce me to so many more of you fine folks who have become real life friends.

The model in this photo is one of my very favorites of his, Phoenix, who he recently did a revamp of, so that’s who I’m using in these pictures.

Day 2 - Pogdaddy

I was in one of the other VAM servers when I saw someone talking about Vox Machina’s animation on Amazon, and helped clarify some things about the show -
I mentioned that I also liked Critical Role, an online D&D game that streamed regularly and was gaining in popularity -
and @pogdaddy, who was in that group as well, reached out to me to talk about it.

That was in April 2022. We’ve been talking ever since on nearly a daily basis. He’s a great friend and VAM mentor, and I am so grateful to be friends with him!
We’ve done a couple of collabs together (Heather, Luna’s remix, and Luthien from his Lord of the Rings project to name a few), and regularly brainstorm for more cuties.
He works really hard on making each model special, and he is truly one of my favorite people.

Even now we watch Critical Role on voice call every week with each other, which is always more fun than watching alone. <3

Featured in these photos are Luanne and Rainey; Luanne is teaching Rainey how to skate - while Luanne herself is quite talented at it!
Pog told me Luanne is one of his favorite models he’s made recently, with one of his other favorites being Talaedriel, this lovely elf whom Rainey sat by the fire with.

Day 3 - @GilgameshVR

Gilgamesh became a pal of mine after I befriended Pog!
We live on VERY different time zones so I didn’t get to talk to him regularly,
and even now as life keeps us busy we only check in now and again,
but he’s been consistently kind and helpful and good to me, and to the other members in the community.

I won’t lie to you and say that a lot of our conversation centers around sharing photos and information about our pets, but…
That’s not a bad thing!

Gil has produced several of my favorite models, and the one featured in these photos is Erika,
a gorgeous slimthicc redhead who was very popular when she was released, and still remains to this day!

Erika thinking she can hide from me for long... Hmm.

Thank you for being my friend, Gil. <3 I’m happy we have cute cats to talk about.

Day 4 - Wunderwise

"Easy" lifts Rainey to help her decorate!


Wunder. You dweeb. You absolute nerd. (affectionate)

@wunderwise is a pain in my butt. He’s one of my favorite people to talk to. We’ve been talking since 2022, casual moderation stuff at first, and then eventually we started to talk about our favorite subject - FOOD! Both of us love a good meal, and both coming from different backgrounds has us constantly talking about delicious meals we’ve tried, boba flavor combinations, random buffets, hole in the wall restaurants, and other related subjects. Recently we’ve been talking about small appliances for use in cooking and it’s always a lot of fun.

Wunderwise is also very amused by my interest in slow paced games and will watch me stream for hours when I would play Transport Fever 2 (which i lovingly referred to as ‘train game’), Powerwash Simulator, and Animal Crossing. He was usually my only viewer, and I will always be grateful to him for being talkative in my chat when other people showed up to say hello.

He picked the two models for these photos, whom he called “Easy” and “Feelmon”, and they helped Rainey decorate for the holidays.

So thank you, Wunderwise, for being one of my cheerleaders from early on. Please continue to lovingly make fun of me, and I’ll make it to Jollibee one day.

Day 5 - @AshAuryn

Ash has been my pal and fellow moderator for the last couple of years,
and is one of the reasons we’ve been getting more places to host community content, with more coming in the future!
She has rebuilt the hub and streamlined a ton of features, and does so much behind the scenes you all have no idea.



She’s also very similar to me in how we think so we bonded over that and have a lot of fun jokes.

I used her avatar for these sweet pics in the Christmas apartment, including a silly face because who doesn’t know about Ash’s expression packs! Ash is a sweetheart who is always willing to help, works wayyyy too hard, and loves a side of gaming when not working on VAM! Recently, she told me she got into Valheim because she kept seeing it on my status so she got curious about it. OOPS

(I’m not upset)

Thank you for being my friend, Ash. I’m excited to see what we can build together next!

Day 6 - Zero Lambda

@Zero Lambda has, in a very short amount of time, become one of my very closest friends.
I’ve been a fan of his photos since 2023, but we only just started talking recently when I told Pog to contact him about a possible collaboration,
and Zero found out that it was me who encouraged Pog to reach out.

The rest is history.

Zero's character Amelie is one of my favorites (sorry, she's not available)



He is also a fan of Critical Role, elves, and D&D, so we’ve basically been yapping every single day for hours since.

We’re both mush-pots who love our original characters so most of our chat is just walls of text about how much we love our characters and how we love to put them through nice things because their history is full of angst and pain. Art imitates life and all that, right?

Zero also has a fluffy cat so we definitely have been trading pet pictures, which is the quickest way to become my friend.

Zero is the reason we’ve been having these silly pose challenges. He pushes me to be a better creator, a better community manager, and a better friend. His enthusiasm for creating characters, for being a connoisseur of cool digital photography, is inspiring and I rise to the challenges he gives me, as he does the same for me.

I’ve learned more about VAM from him in the last two months than I have in the nearly four years I’ve been part of this community.
He is quick to help and offer solutions, is genuinely excited to see me progress as a creator, and is so, so kind.

I am so grateful to friends like him, people I never expected to find in this adult sandbox game, and I hope our future is full of more laughter, and DEFINITELY more elves.

Featured in these photos is one of my favorites of his, Amelie. She is stoic on the outside, but once you earn her trust, she’s a big ol’ softie.
I'm a big fan of characters like this, so I'm glad Zero trusted me enough that I get to play with her. <3
