not showing up as a scene or an appearance :?

I had to unpack it and then manually place it in scene to make it work at all.
Then save the appearance and then upload it into a working scene.

Is this how the look is meant to be ?

Yes sorry i forgot to mention you have to upack into the root folder and load the look on a model.
