LightAssistant - Smart, cinematic one-click lighting for Virt-A-Mate.

✨ LightAssistant v1.1 — Intelligent Lighting for Virt-A-Mate(early release)

LightAssistant is a powerful, easy-to-use lighting toolkit that brings cinematic, studio-quality lighting to your VaM scenes with a single click.
It automatically scans your scene, builds complete lighting rigs, adjusts shadows, and applies hand-tuned presets designed for realism, beauty, anime style, drama, or clean studio looks.

Works as:

Hey everyone! 😊
This is the first public release of LightAssistant, so consider it an early version, but fully functional.
I haven’t tested it in VR yet, but there shouldn’t be any issues.
Please enjoy it, try the presets, experiment with the lighting rig, and let me know what you think!
All feedback is welcome wether good, bad, or feature requests.
Tell me what you want, and I’ll see what I can add in the next updates. 😄
Thanks for checking it out

Wow, you've made so many plugins — huge thanks for everything you've contributed to the community!I gave this one a quick try, but the preset effects didn’t really wow me; nothing felt particularly stunning.Maybe I just had the wrong expectations. I was hoping for a “one-click gorgeous lighting setup” kind of plugin, but it’s clearly not designed to be that type of tool.

Thank you for this great plugin!

However, quick question: Is this compatible with and/or does this work well with Light Options?

(Which I am always using, as a Session Plugin; which brings me to the question of compatibility, since Light Options is a global effect type of Plugin, so it would inevitably be overwritten by, or would itself overwrite your LightAssistant plugin)

🆕 New in v1.2

🔍 Scene Analysis 2.0 (Improved)

The scene scanner has been fully upgraded. It now performs a much deeper analysis of your lighting environment:

  • Counts all InvisibleLights
  • Detects Spot / Point / Directional
  • Reads intensity, range, angle, shadows
  • Calculates total light energy
  • Calculates average scene brightness
  • Detects extreme values (too bright / too dark)
  • Provides smart recommendations for...

So ive Updated the LightAssistant, its still an early release and i think focus now is perfecting what already is, However if there is something you want the continue giving feedbacks and il try to implement if i can. (no promises but il sure give it a try! :) ). For now though i will focus improving this and my other plugins (https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/authors/kimowal.57618/ ) and i guess we take it from there.

Very useful plugin! Can you move the apply preset button to the top? Next to the preset drop menu? That would be more convenient

Hey love the new disco light feature! Is there plans to expand on it and open up the ability to customize the disco lights in terms of colors, beat, speed and such so that maybe we can make it sync with music in scene?

I agree with what the other person said, can all the preset buttons be at the top instead of at the bottom?

so im working on fixing several issues, both last mentioned here and others, ive fixed the issue with the global brightness intensity. it now goes from 0-10 and is stable. Master intensity will be removed as it does the same and are no longer needed. now for the rest of the lights im trying to fix the sliders to work with each lights(Key light/fill light/rim light intensity) . As for the colouring.. its great to have one for all but im thinking of making colouring for each light. however this might be overkill as the point with lightassistant was just basic lightning setup . rest should be altered manually in each lightatoms settings, but we will see... new update is coming today in not so many hours.

Hey better late than never right! LOL. Love that you did get around to adding more disco customization! I will say a bit of it is still kinda confusing in the new UI, I'm not sure if there's like... a way to control how intense the brightness of the disco lights are? None of the four sliders seem to affect brightness and the disco lights also seem to ignore any settings from the other tab such as the global brightness slider. The neon color palette also seems to ignore the color saturation slider for some reason.

Speaking of color pallete's, would be awesome too to have the ability to make our own color palettes, noticed how there's a strobe effect in those that's only available in white, and again would be nice to maybe adjust it so that it's not entirely pitch black to full bright but maybe something in between and also changing the color of the white strobe to maybe red, green or blue.

Anyways an amazing and long awaited update that already opens up a lot more fun lighting options and look forward to using this more!
