So I have roughly 160gigs of data that ive been collecting over the year. And I've noticed that it loves to freeze quite a lot now especially when im downloading an scene or look etc from the game itself. Loading times is alright still fast on the m.2. So im wondering is there a way to improve performance ingame without deleting all the files.

From what I experienced it is somehow important on what refresh rate you play. Depending of course on your gear, mine is a valve index (capable of 120Hz officially, it can make 144Hz though), its a difference in FPS what your settings on Hz actually is. Just try out.

The most performance eater is "soft body physics" and the number of lights you have in your scene + the number of light sources you can set manually. But depends on your GPU as well what it is capable of.

Shadows are also very important, medium is my way to go.

Next big things are "hairs" and "clothes" on your persons. This also eats a lot if physics is on.

Does that somehow answer your question?

If that is what you was asking for, have a look as well at this maybe:
