Solved Does the VAM folder size affect performance?

Outside of load times does it do anything to performance such as frame rates and the programs ability to handle more atoms in scene?.

Yes, but in comparison to other things it may not be that substantial unless you have a lot of stuff. Of course, this baseline depends on your hardware, a weaker machine will struggle earlier than a more powerful one.
