TI_vam submitted a new resource:

Butterflies 1 - asset

I had wanted to create the butterfly flapping wings effect for some time, and I was able to create a reasonable one by experimenting with combinations in the vertex shaders.

I like this asset, a lot.

Sadly it tanks my GPU for some reason? Granted I "only" have a 3060 TI but even at a ~2145MHz overclock the "lots" option especially brings me down to about 50-55fps, and that's with literally nothing else in the scene, not even lights.

The "fewer" option is better of course but once a model, lighting, assets and other effects are introduced the fps tanks in a similar manner.

Basically what I'm wondering is if this is expected behavior? is the asset just that much of a resource hog?

It runs fine in Intel Core i9 13900KFDesktopMode with RTX4090. in VRMode it is quite heavy. If you reduce MaxParticles in the plugin ParticlesControl, the load will be much lighter. This is an Asset made for the purpose of video creation, so it is intended to be used in DesktopMode.
