In general, using Lock on body parts makes a stiff, unresponsive animation. This over-constrains the figure. I usually have head, hands, hip, feet in the On state, with everything else Off or Comply. Timeline can have its own starting poses for each animation. There's no need to load pose presets.

I also use “comply” or “on.” In some cases, I use “hold” as well.
The timeline and start pose features don't work for me, or maybe I'm doing something wrong.
The characters don't end up in the right position; instead, they stay where they are.
So I just stick with the default poses for now.

Now I see what you mean. About loading the pose preset. I made a mistake there. I'll put it in the right place now—not directly in the timeline.

The only issue with using the starting poses in Timeline is that each person atom has to have their own instance of Timeline. In other words, the Timeline on Person can't apply a starting pose on Person#2. If all the animations are named the same, they will play together.
