cant figure out where to apply an eye texture... I'm pretty sure i'm overlooking an obvious button somewhere

all good, lemme post a pic for ya --

1. Choose the Iris Texture button on a person atom.
2. Then Select the Textures button on top right
3. Press the Select Button on the textures tab, and browse to the VAR on the left (Type in the filter box above the list for EYE or AWW, that will make the list easier to see)
4. Select one of the textures, and apply to the IRIS
5. Repeat for the Sclera.
