VaM2 Getting Started Guide

Welcome to VaM2! This guide will help you get familiar with the basics.

Getting Started

You can download the most recent version of VaM2 from our Patreon. You must be subscribed to a Creator level to have access.

UI Basics

The UI is a work in progress and not final. We have many ideas on how we want to organize and present the vanilla content we will be providing. Please check out our Trello for the roadmap and give us feedback on our Discord.

Note: Currently we have no UI for VR. You will need to use keyboard commands and the desktop menus.

UI Overview

Our current work-in-progress UI is designed for ease of access and flexibility.

Scene Hierarchy and System UI

This area is where you will add Figures, Environments, and Objects into the game. It includes blend shapes and materials for the figure models. This also gives you access to environmental and post effects, save/load menu, and miscellaneous system settings.

Controllables UI

This area is where UI panels for a wide variety of sub-settings and UI elements will appear: material settings, blend shapes, save/load paths, bone and joint settings, etc.

Custom UI

This panel is yours to configure. Our UI is made up of panels that can be dragged out and either floated within the scene or docked into this panel for ease of access. Currently any changes here are lost when the game is shut down.

Quick Access UI

The Quick Access UI presents you with a menu of primary functions for quick access:
  • Load/Save
  • Select Environment
  • Add Figure
  • Add Object
  • Toggle Controls
  • Toggle Free Look
  • Undo
  • Redo
  • UI Scale
