I can imagine that if making a mocap Timeline in VR makes a lot of sense, but if keyframing manually I would rather have the precision of the mouse even if posing the person is more difficult. Essentially it depends on what you want to do and you're free to try both approaches to compare.

If it's specific to a scene or creator then VaM or preferences is not the issue but scene structuring. You could alert the creator about this.

You can try clearing your cache and checking your visual preferences for anything "low". As I've no idea how the scenes you refer to are done I cannot say if the problem is on the scene or your side.

Saved poses in Timeline are for the current pose of the person, doesn't matter how you posed it.

I load my voices with UIAssist, and I don't want them referenced in a scene as the buttons for each would require, that's the reason. I also a similar callback system for clothing and more recently for environments, quickdress and quickplace respectively. You can check those out too if they may...

Triggers are agnostic, it's the same system whether using in Timeline or anything else that can do triggers.
