It depends on how the animation is made. Essentially you need to learn a bit about animation and scene making to investigate what is the cause for each scene. What you learn is well worth the time invested I think.

You don't need a plugin, you can have a trigger and set the delay part to gradually reach the target value. The triggers will break if the receiver is not present in the scene, they can't work on something that isn't there.

Never had such a issue in more than 2 years of using VaM.

When you save a scene it's stored as a local file in yourVAMfolder/Saves/scene. If you save a scene but it doesn't show up there, then you either don't have a suitable tiier for saving scenes, like creator tier, or your VaM folder has permission issues or something is broken.
