Official In Development - Known Issues

AAH the settings was RIGHT under my nose :D (I was looking at the list below that), thanks @MacGruber and @AshAuryn :D And yeah I actually still love seeing when people use my work, it's just hard to comb through now <3

Official In Development - Known Issues

I don't know if this is a known issue, but I used to make sure I read everything but now that "your resource was used" is also an alert, it's hard to track :D (Mostly "Your content is being used as a dependency" messages) I don't think there's a setting for specifically this here...

Sending EMail notifications to my Hub "Followers"?

I would _love_ to get a nice system to publish news and information to people who are interested. I'm writing stuff on Patreon and Discord but it's scattered and disconnected from the actual resources. So yeah, I'm behind the idea of a mechanism to _replace_ the "Announcements" feed on Discord...

Did you consider hosting a Mastodon server?

I remember what happened a while ago when Tumblr adult content was banned; everyone had to move and lost their followers, and a lot of them eventually joined Twitter. Not sure yet what will happen with Twitter itself in the long run, and because of that fear, Mastodon received a surge of new...

Are star ratings in reviews useful?

I feel like one of the "root cause" of this might be that we have both a "community" which is about recognition, sharing knowledge, and having a good time, and a "store" where people just want to consume content, not engage in the community. While I'm a big fan of the former, the latter is not...

Early access updates model (open discussion)

I don't use EA for existing resources, which means my EA work (e.g. Timeline betas) rely on things like Discord and Patreon to let people know about it. JayJayWon has a two-resources model that seems to work for him, but in my case I only use Hub EA for new stuff.

Are star ratings in reviews useful?

It's interesting that you have grabbed that data. I know personally, I tend to either rate 5 stars for stuff worth other people's time (and the creator's attention) but I don't like using stars to provide less-than-perfect feedback, since it's permanent. I'm sure that having the name attached to...

    Bring back endless scrolling, PLEASE

Request: Q&A section being the same formate like other sections.

I'm partly to blame for that. I thought (and still think) a place to find clear questions and clear answers for future users would be beneficial, for example check how Stack Overflow became hugely helpful in the software field with a model like this. But what I realized since then is how much...

Can we get a pay look content creator review sticky please?

I'd suggest: 1. Raise the issue with the author, give them a chance to correct the issue, and then; 2. Report (there's a report link) so moderators can take action If it's really false advertising, and not a technical issue (e.g. missing var dependency or corrupted upload for example) you'll...

    Vars used by list

Yeah I hoped for the same thing, but I think it got buried in other todos! https://hub.virtamate.com/threads/whats-using-this-or-reverse-dependencies-lookup.3250/

[FIXED] Problem with downloads (cdn shows "Deceptive site ahead")

And it's still the same domain (1387905758.rsc.cdn77.org) so I guess someone reported the false positive quickly :) I renamed the thread to make it less frightening :P

[FIXED] Problem with downloads (cdn shows "Deceptive site ahead")

Oh I just noticed, cdn77.com is fine but cdn77.org is not (the latter is used by Hub); is this a configuration error maybe?

[FIXED] Problem with downloads (cdn shows "Deceptive site ahead")

There's a new red warning page showing up when I try to download resources on the Hub now: Am I the only one? All download links send me to the domain 1387905758.rsc.cdn77.org

Would there be a way to somehow have the hub "remember" our download dependencies? (maybe diff color download button)

@DXWarlock well it would be possible to just sync your current packages list in your account from VaM. VaM already shares information with the site since it lists your missing packages. But that would be additional development.

How about an option to set creators as "favorites" and filter for their content?

AH it was a HUB feedback!!! Sorry, I mixed up things, I'm shutting up now :P

How about an option to set creators as "favorites" and filter for their content?

Ah, this would be a great way to at least find stuff I'm looking for, since I often remember the author name but not necessarily the plugin name! This is strongly related to https://hub.virtamate.com/threads/finding-plug-in’s-in-my-long-list-is-exhausting.3788/

Allow authors to provide their var filename to help find dependencies

And for your suggestion @MacGruber indeed the link could be in the var itself, but by using the Hub instead we can know if there's a new version, rate the resource, etc. and make it clear when you're leaving Hub, which is important when using untrusted hosts like personal sites. It's also...

Allow authors to provide their var filename to help find dependencies

Var-hosted files are greatly preferable, but as long as paid content is behind Patreon or similar alternatives, there will be "hidden" dependencies that require scouring Hub search with wild guesses. I'm guessing authors of free resources that still send you to their Patreon want people to...

Allow authors to provide their var filename to help find dependencies

I think encouraging resources to be hosted on Hub makes sense, however it's not always the case (paid or not). A suggestion to help finding dependencies: allow creators to provide a "var name" (regex /^[^.]+\.[^.]+(\.[0-9]+)?(\.var)?$/) in their resource, and in the Dependencies tab if no actual...
