Breaking animations out of the .json file

Yeah, it is one of those things that I wish was done when .var was brought in, as the cat is out of the bag now and for it to be useful, the scene developers would have to all be using it. Hopefully something like this can make it into VaM 2.0 because size is going to be an issue there with the...

How Big is your Virt-a-Mate Folder?

6 gigs, it is an rtx 2060 super. I know, not a great card. My computer died and it was the best I could get on short order as I need it for work.

How Big is your Virt-a-Mate Folder?

I am going to have to try this. VaM crashes for me about every 5 scenes.

How Big is your Virt-a-Mate Folder?

Fascinating and slightly sadmaking. Moving the cache to hdd only saves me about 50-60 gigs of my precious ssd. Right now that is more than half of my VaM folder, but over time that will change.

Breaking animations out of the .json file

I didn't know keybindings could add plugins. I am going to have to re-read the docs for that. Must have missed it. Thanks!

What would be the PC requirement for the future VaM 2.X?

Yeah, look up dying light VR, it was clearly being made with a VR mode and then they just never finished it. It is literally one line in a text file to enable it. This was way back pre-quest so the number of headsets was much less and people had less stomach for motion sickness, so I am sure...

Breaking animations out of the .json file

I think it is something that was maybe overlooked when .var was breaking out re-used assets. That animations and timelines are pretty scene specific, but a user might want variations on a base theme. I suspect it won't really get fixed unless the VaM devs add that functionality to .var format...

What would be the PC requirement for the future VaM 2.X?

Avatar is a pretty bad example for a movie to watch as an early 3d movie honestly. They did a lot of force focus tricks that are super annoying for the viewer. Like when you are looking at a background character and then they focus in on a foreground characters. That is a bad viewing...

What would be the PC requirement for the future VaM 2.X?

From what I can see the biggest change to PC specs is going to be HD space and possibly ram as the textures are looking to get much bigger. I don't know how that pipeline is going to be managed, so I don't know if the bigger textures will require more ram or vram or if it will manage to stream...

How Big is your Virt-a-Mate Folder?

88 gigs right now, but I have had it like a week and half, lol. I am scared and already pricing out used hard drives, but it loads so fast on my SSD! Most of that is the cache. About 50 gigs is cache. Thinking I am going to move it all to a separate hard drive and just keep the cache on the...

Breaking animations out of the .json file

I am SUPER new to VaM, and have only interacted with .vac files as a legacy thing. I love the new .var files and how the avoid hard drive consuming duplication of assets. I would probably have abandoned vam (or had to buy some used hard drives) if it was that insanely bloaty. That said, the...

What would be the ultimate physics settings for possession?

My biggest current issue with Embody once I figured out how to get the eye tracking to actually follow the parent (so new to this) is that my favorite scenes are very close and intimate and in those there are sometimes brief moments where the female face/hair will clip in. I think a great fix...
