Are star ratings in reviews useful?

You could have two review #'s. A completely unmoderated "masses" star ranking (without mandatory reviews), and then an "expert collective" review rating, like movies do. Then people can decide for themselves what is more helpful.

Are star ratings in reviews useful?

D91d makes a valid user experience point. Supporting a bunch of patreon developers and manually installing everything, along with updates, etc. is really only viable for the most enthusiastic user. The Hub could provide a store that would provide a better end-user experience that would pass on...

Are star ratings in reviews useful?

I think the reviews would be much more meaningful if they were not mandatory. This would also remove a lot of random comments that aren't productive feedback.

    My dream VAM plugin/scenario

Glad to see so much talk about this :)

    My dream VAM plugin/scenario

My dream for VAM is a VR version of the Holodeck. Within this virtual space, you have "living" breathing, walking, talking people who know how to interact with their environment, have a library of actions they can perform when they feel like doing so, and know who the players of the space are...

What would be the PC requirement for the future VaM 2.X?

We should have a better idea once 2.x alpha ships later this year, hopefully. They're still early on for 2.0 release though (non-alpha) so you may just want to wait. It might be another year or two before it's at the same level as 1.x I'd recommend getting something that works well in...

Filter to show only Hub Hosted VARs

I would definitely use this requested feature.

There should be a "Hide seen" or "Hide downloaded" "Hide liked" filter for all RESOURCES

Yeah there's so much content at this point it's overwhelming to go through. Usually when I come here I stay for like 5 min then leave. We need better ways to manage how we find and view content here. Keyword categories, hiding some, or only seeing others. Sorting that by date, filtering it...

    What about the positive stuff?

I'll give some positive feedback from someone who doesn't really like the hub. I like the one-stop-shopping aspect to content. I like following content for updates. I like how it has both free content and allows patreon links for paid content. A lot of stuff on patreon is hidden so this is...

    Nvidia SLI and PhysX configuration

@meshedvr if you're able to support dedicated GPU Physx, I think some would use it if it helps. FWIW.

Big Navi vs Ampere for VaM

This is all fanboy speculation at this point presented as an informed suggestion. I'm literally watching a video saying that the new AMD 3070 competitor card is expected to crush the 3070. I suggest waiting for them both to be out and available at retail prices. I suspect until 2.0 VAM will...

Hub devs - Thanks for the Futa/LGBT filters in preferences.

I don't post often, and there are probably many like me who welcome this option. Some might not care for the fact that many aren't into that kind of thing, but I don't really care. This is a win-win for everyone, so thanks for supporting all your backers.

Official Poll - reactions vs. reviews for resources

I feel criticism is a key to excellence in any field. Ignorance is bliss but not helpful if your goal is to make things people enjoy. If you're just making it because you like it, then it doesn't matter what others think. People are free to criticize whine and complain about anything I do...

More reality content - especially in AI/speech

Hopefully the post helps spark ideas towards all this, which I think would be a great end-goal for VAM and community. A VR Holodeck type platform would allow all kinds of content for everyone while building towards a common larger goal. Perhaps a group could be established of like-minded devs...

Official Poll - reactions vs. reviews for resources

"Reactions" to me reads as discord emoji spam, compared with a like/dislike system. I would recommend a like/dislike system where contributors cannot go negative (to buffer excessive negative feedback). Reddit is highly successful and still continues with a like/dislike system which I feel...

Confusing method for feedback between rating and emotions

Reddit allows up/down votes without a mandatory reply on why. I suggest not requiring that, if you stay with a star system. I would prefer moving away from a star system, as it doesn't really provide quality feedback.

More reality content - especially in AI/speech

If we want the VAM platform to grow into something beyond a fetish platform it is important work related to real-life continues to grow. This includes AI interactions (linking with an open-source chatbot perhaps?) and text to speech integration. In addition to making characters lifelike, it...

    Official VAR file compression poll

I have a NVME PCIE 4 ssd, very fast, and loading times are definitely tied up with something because they might hit 20%? Less? None of my 16 threads are maxed either. I'm a fan of any performance improvement we can get. VAM is an app that will prompt people to upgrade their machines if you...
