• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Paid Plugins Subsurface Scattering Skin & Better Soft Shadows (Out Of Beta)

It's just so incompatible with so many things I use for all my scenes. It's neat, but in the end, not really worth the money. Same with the toon shader. It's a cool effect, but makes the models look completely out of place.

I made a short characters and need advice. Also, MMD conversion.

I made a short female character and noticed their collision is off and they are hovering above their "base" node. Does anyone have any experience with fixing these issues that they might help me solve this issue efficiently. Also, I am trying to convert an MMD dance for them, any advice on...

    Various questions about VAM's performance.

I turned those off and it didn't seem to do much.

    Various questions about VAM's performance.

I was afraid of this. Guess I'll just have to deal with it as making minor tweaks (reducing physics, hair, clothing, windows) is only making the smallest difference. Like 1-2 FPS.

    Various questions about VAM's performance.

I've installed this Performance Patch and set it for my CPU, but I'm not getting any significant increase in FPS. https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/cpu-performance-patch-up-to-30-faster-physics-up-to-60-more-fps.43427/

    Various questions about VAM's performance.

I just noticed this thread, which has a lot of information. https://hub.virtamate.com/threads/fps-very-bad-with-more-than-2-atoms.50570/

    Various questions about VAM's performance.

Firstly, I am only using VAM in Desktop mode. I have no plans to use it in VR. I have an RTX 3090, 64 GB RAM and Ryzen 9 5950X. My pagefile is set to 20000 MB. My VAM settings are as here: Right now, I am running a scene with 3 female models. 2 with soft body physics off, and 1 with them on...

Solved Timeline questions: Running multiple animations for one person, merging animations?

I wasn't so sure about a layer, because the two animations are different length and they have to start at different times. I think the other response makes more sense. I will test layers in the future, however, as I'd really like to learn the use cases, though it might seem like they are more...

Solved Timeline questions: Running multiple animations for one person, merging animations?

Wow, that is very smart. I never realized you could have two instances of a plugin on a single atom. Thanks for this idea.

Solved Timeline questions: Running multiple animations for one person, merging animations?

I am working on a scene using timeline for the first time. I've made most of it, but realized I might need to merge some animations or something. Anyways, I have 2 animations on a person that I'm trying to run at the same time. I am not sure this is possible because if I start a different...

Oh! I totally forgot about this. Thanks for that.

Question How to avoid explosions when trying to animate?

Coming back after ages I've forgotten how I dealt with a lot of these issues in the past, I'm starting to remember that I just ended up completely disabling head collisions for blowjobs, as I think it's more trouble than it's worth.

Question How to avoid explosions when trying to animate?

Thank you for the reply. I think I've figured things out a bit better. I've locked down more nodes, removed collisions from all other objects in the scene and I'm breaking the animation down into multiple animations rather than trying to make one long animation. This workflow is working WAY...

Question How to avoid explosions when trying to animate?

I am trying to animate a simple blowjob, but my models' collisions are constantly interfering. And, I'll occasionally get an explosion that will ruin all my work and sometimes when I load a save, it's an instant explosion. It's so frustrating, what can I do? For context, I have a male model...

Solved Is there a way to export animations from timeline into a format I can edit in Blender?

I see that there is a way to convert mocap done in vam into timeline animations, but is there way to do the opposite, convert timeline animations into mocap or possibly into BVH, to reimport into VAM. I want to be able to edit my animation in blender and then reimport it as BVH without the need...

    Femboy hair help plz

Male and female hairs are interchangeable. You just need to put the female hair files in the male hair folders. If they are in a VAR you'll need to extract them first. FYI, VARs are just zip files. Things are gender-locked because VaM uses Daz models that are not interchangeable. It sucks, but...

    Suddenly 20 fps

Wow, that solved it. I feel so dumb. I could have sworn I had restarted my machine. It works just fine now, even with the higher settings for the monitor. Getting 158 fps with the scene I was testing. Glad it was nothing worse.

    Suddenly 20 fps

As I said in my above post, I have tried changing my desktop resolution to 1080 and 60hz, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I am wondering if the latest Nvidia update might have had anything to do with it.
