I saw a good deal for the latest version of 8KX DMAS (with updated lens and screen panel)on sale and also have the 4090 on hand. So I find it maybe good idea to order it and try it out on VAM since my previous experience with 2080TI on 8KX (older version with old lens/screen) isn't that great...
Check and see if your 4090 is running a PCIE3 X4/X8/X16 or PCIE4 X8/X16, you can see it on NVIDIA panel information part (bottom left of window after you open it)
Managed to get hold of a 4090. Quickly ran the benchmark @4K (Same configuration as before, only changed the GPU)
Also this time is not running with clean copy, will do benchmark again in clean copy later on.
Are you running in power saving mode some sort? Maybe should try run in high performance or Ryzen performance mode depends on which CPU you are using.
Also try keep hwinfo on background to see what's the actually power usage and core usage, maybe your OSD really is not working properly..
Nice, I am looking to see in general how much performance gain for the MacGruber Benchmark plugin. Please included 1080 and some VR result if possible because its easier to compare how much gain compare to other result.
Also I notice you have 12700k - is it possible to add benchmark result...

The difference actually depends on your laptop cooling performance and ambient temp. In general if the laptop you are getting hitting thermal limit all the time, both are pretty much the same. If you can cool the laptop good enough, there could be up to 10% different (most of time you will not...
