Questions about creating joint correction morphs (Vam to blender to Vam)

****************** Edit ***************** This doesn't work. Solution is in post #12 ******************************************* I just did some testing and there is something I'm missing with the Vam to blender to Vam method. I'm using a newer version of blender than the guide so I don't...

    Genital G2F

This will probably go off the main topic then. I want to make morphs from the genitals from VAM. Im fairly new to the VAM CC arena. Not sure which guide is best for this and would like to know how to export the genitals (which i found is separate from the rest of the model) to blender and sculpt...

Guides Vam to Blender to Vam

As far as im aware you would need to load the gens onto a model in daz, then select gens only, set to base resolution and export to blender for work, again not changing any vert counts during sculpting. then it would be largley the same coming back to daz, morph loader pro on the gens then...

Guides Guide and Blender template to convert V4, M4, G2/3/8/8.1/9 textures to G2F/M

Is the guide/template strictly for Blender version 2.79 because something breaks in newer versions? Only tried 2.79 and everything worked first try. In fact it worked so good that I prefer this over my other method with DAZ map transfer. (It's possible to convert textures in DAZ between G2F and...

Why is VaM rendering much faster than Daz3d (and other 3d modeling software)?

Vam doesn't render in the same sense as Daz or blender etc. They use raytraced\pathtraced rendering which is very accurate but awfully slow as its done on a pixel by pixel basis where as Vam is a rasterized render which is much faster to render allowing "realtime" rendering.

Thank you for this correction, unfortunately I couldn't think of any well known counterexamples for the other programs mentioned. ;)

    Solved Making Alpha textures

I've noticed that the skin maps seem to be different on the way blenders charactors has the UV mapping, how would I set up the blender model to share the same mapping that the Daz/Vam girl has as this way would be easiset cuz I've texture painted in blender prior. It's been a while since Ive...

    Question Reverting textures

Greetings! I tried to ask several times over discord in some user's servers but to no avail (probably they don't know, there's no way or go figure), so I'm here hoping for the best. My question is: is it possible to revert the texture used for VaM models into daz textures again? Or it's only one...

Question autofit g8 clothes to g2 problem

or, export obj to blender no bones, no groups, just the mesh and UVS. Refit, smooth etc... import and rig back in DAZ on to a g2f character. Doesn't ef it up as much when working with raw mesh. Maybe even bring to MD and turn it to quads and let it fit itself back to g2 figure

Plugins + Scripts Vam To Daz 2

It was my mistake... I did not read properly in post #86 (which I ironically quoted in my post, above). " Dropping the .dsf into the VAM female morphs folder so that it generates the new .vmi/.vmb files " For some reason my brain registered that as " Dropping the .dsf into the VAM2DAZ tool "...

There is no guide for this at all but I guarantee the same rules apply in that the vert count and order must be retained You will require the linked New Gens for Victoria 6 installed in Daz to do any modelling of the gens. I got no idea if this works exactly like this since I have not done...

Plugins + Scripts Blender templates to convert OBJs exported from VAM into OBJs that use UDIM

Very strange, it looks like some vertices are shared between materials, e.g. when I just select the head-001 material group, I get this : vs. the head group of the VAM exported OBJ: Come to think of it, technically there must be shared vertices and edges, since materials are used on...

Question Character creator 4 to VAM?

It sounds like you imported the OBJ file from CC4 to Daz, and then tried to use it to create a morph for Genesis 2? Your mistake was most likely in that last step of trying to use an OBJ to make a morph for a Genesis 2. I had the best luck making VAM morphs in Blender: In Blender you can...

Plugins + Scripts Blender templates to convert OBJs exported from VAM into OBJs that use UDIM

@zoidberg This is working great for VAM exported OBJs. I need it for a DAZ exported OBJ with the original mesh to be able to create morphs with it in DAZ too. So I tried to the best of my abilities to modify it. Added comments with the material index for VAM and DAZ variants and removed the...

Clothing Creators! What's going wrong with my import?

Did you have prepaired the clothes in DAZ3D yourself, or is the duf something from an other source? If you prepared the cloth yourself in DAZ and have fitted it correctly to the standard genesis 2 female in the right size, this should not have happened. Looks like this step maybe was left out...
