Work Light Manager

Plugins + Scripts Work Light Manager

Download [<1 MB]
Description:
Lighting has a significant impact on performance and it is not very comfortable to work on scene or animations with low fps. And turning off lights could help with that. (At least my GPU works with ~50%, not 100%)
It is not performance plugin, just useful tool that could help somebody. All depends of scene complexity. Works best for some complex scenes with many pixel lights.

Showcase:
So, i made plugin to switch between "Work mode" and "Render mode" as I decided to call it, by turning off lights and turning on scene's ambient light.
You can add it as scene plugin or into any atom.

Details:
Left side of UI is "Work Mode" and toggles to expand param settings, right one is "Render Mode".

Besides buttons and hotkeys to activate modes, plugin also has triggers for external use:
- "ActivateWorkMode" action
- "ActivateRenderMode" action
- "ToggleMode Work=false Render=true" toggle action

Selected lights will be turned on/off by mode changing.
It is automatically rescanning lights list if you add/remove/rename InvisibleLight Atom, but i leaved Rescanning button just in case.
It has also toggle button to select or deselect all lights.

Personally, i am setting to zero "Global Illum Master Intensity" because it woks not so good with CUAs and I prefer to setup scene lights manually.
All params for scene lights can be activated to be changed by plugin when mode changing. If param is not checked, it will be skipped.

Dude, I've always had to go through the hassle of parenting all lights in a scene to a single empty, so that I could turn off that empty when I'm working on a scene because all the lights would tank my FPS. I was always disappointed that there weren't any plugins out there that could disable all lights with one single click.

And finally someone made one! Thank you very much for this plugin!

A most excellent resource. I find myself tweaking lights in almost every scene, centralizing the controls is a great idea!

I'm glad this is helpful. This is not really centralizing controls, just useful tool to increase performance for editing scene
