About

Create realtime reflection probes in your scene to show your shiny CUAs from their best side.

A short showcase animation with the torch flames reflecting on the armor. Scene not included in the package.

How To

Add the plugin to a new Empty atom to your scene. Make sure that you have Realtime Reflection Probes enabled in your VaM settings, otherwise this plugin won't work correctly. If you have a reflective CUA around, you should already see the probe do its job.

The plugin settings mostly mirror Unity's reflection probe settings. If you are unsure what a setting does, take a look at the Unity documentation here or there.

About Performance
Rendering reflections every frame can be heavy on performance, especially for large probe resolutions. Here are some things you can try to improve performance:
  • Only taking screenshots or have mostly static reflections? Choose the Trigger refresh mode and only render the probe when needed.
  • Can live with a lower frame rate in your reflections only? Increase the refresh interval time.
  • Don't need your reflections to be the sharpest they can be? Lower the probe render resolution.
  • Don't need all objects in your reflections? Use the culling settings to exclude render layers.
