Overview

Organize Your Morphs is a session plugin.

NOTE: The plugin adds more features to desktop than it does to VR. It's assumed most of your work customizing your morph collection will be done on desktop. There is only basic functionality in VR. Check the “VR Use” section for further information.

In VaM, morphs are sorted into whatever categories the morph creator decided to put them in. Categories are hard-coded into the morph file, and inside each category the morphs are listed in alphabetical order. The program does not allow the user to change any of this. It's a major deficiency that results in a huge and disorganized list of morphs and categories.

This plugin ignores those hard-coded categories and builds a 100% customizable morph organization system to give you total control over their morph collection. Create, delete, rename or rearrange categories. Drag and drop morphs from one category to another, or to rearrange morphs within a category. Selecting morphs uses the standard click to select one, click -> shift click to select a range, and ctrl click to toggle individual morphs between selected and unselected.

Categories are in a nested tree structure, and any branch can be expanded to show subcategories or collapsed to hide them, so you can condense the list by hiding category branches you're not using at the moment. It also allows you to have multiple sliders controlling a single morph, so often used morphs can be sorted in your collection, but at the same time gathered together into favorites category.

The plugin makes no changes to any existing Vam files, and no plugin data is saved in scenes, looks, etc. It only changes how your morph collection appears to you. There are no compatibility issues when sharing files with people not using the plugin.

The plugin also makes changes to the morph tab. The main one is the addition of options for how much data the UI can display. Anything from Vam's standard one page of morphs and a dropdown category list to 12 pages of morphs and an always open categories list on the side. There are times when you want Vam's ui to be small and out of the way, but in my opinion, working on morphs is not one of those times. Especially when reorganizing your morphs collection, having more on the screen make sthings easier.

There have also been numerous “Quality of Life” changes.
The changes include:
-Bold type for easier readability
-Added color to sliders to denote morph (blue) and pose morph (red)
-Morph slider handle is orange if the morph is active
-Morph range reset button is green if the range has been increased.
-The mouse wheel can be used to scroll through morph pages.
-To prevent accidentally altering the wrong model, the background of the morph area is pink, blue, or purple, based on whether the model is female, male or futa. The background of the morph page number label is pink on the female morphs tab, and blue on the male morphs tab.
-In VaM, the “only active” checkbox actually displays all morphs that are non zero. The problem is, there are a couple dozen morphs with default values that are not zero, so these show as active even though they are not. This has been fixed; “only Active” displays only morphs with non-default values.

See the “Controls” section of the documentation for info on how the new buttons, sliders, and features work.

Quick Access categoriesand Controller Copies

The plugin allowsthe creation of multiple copies of morph controllers. These aren'tcopies of the morph, just the control. You can have as many copiesas you like, wherever you want, but there's only one morph, and itonly has one value. Whenever the original or any copy is changed, they all change.

Quick Accesscategories are special categories that can contain only copies ofother morphs controllers. The idea is that morphs will be organizedin a tree structure of subcategories, and the root category will be aQuick Access. If there are morphs in the category that you tend touse a lot, you can drag a copy to the root. This way you canmaintain a list of favorite morphs while still keeping the originalsin your sorted collection.

But that's just a suggestion. Dowhat you want. Copies can be placed in any category, and anycategory that doesn't already contain actual morphs can be made quickaccess. Right click on the category to bring up the option.

Copiesare made by dragging morphs to Quick Access categories, or by using aright button drag to any category.

Loading and saving

This plugin introduces a new file type:Morph Organization Preset files, with the .mop extension. These canbe either full or partial organizations, depending if the mop, whencreated, contained the entire morph collection, or just selectedcategories. So you can save a copy of your entire collection, orjust a selection of categories if you choose. Male and female haveseparate .mop's, and “_male” or “_female” will be added tothe save name.

The plugin includes a few presets files fromthe start. If you delete any of these, they will be re-written thenext time you load the plugin.

Sorted: This is a presetconstructed the first time you load the morph. It does a roughpre-sort of your morph collection. It's far from perfect, but youmay find it's a good base from which to start customizing.

VamDefaults: Returns your collection to the categories Vam assignedthem.

Autosort and expressions: These were tools used tocreate your sorted preset. See the “Autosort” section for moreinformation.

The first time you load the plugin, the “sorted”preset will load. You can load “Vam Defaults” at any time if youprefer to return to the categories you're used to.

Labelling .mop files as full or partialis solely just for your information. Before loading a .mop, youshould know if it's going to rearrange all your morphs, or just asubset. But both types are loaded in exactly the same way. When a.mop is loaded, any morph included in the .mop that is also in yourcollection will be moved to the category specified in the .mop. Allother morphs will remain where they were.

On startup, the plugin will loadwhatever preset was last active.

Any mop file is included in a .varfile, it will show up in your list of available mops to load. Creators, please add just the desired mop files to your .var, not thewhole directory.

You can have as many .mopfiles (and thus as many different morph organizations) as you want. I have no idea if users will want to create and use different .mopfiles for different tasks, or will trade and share .mop files. I'minterested to see if people use them beyond simply saving theirdefault morph configuration.

Autosort

The first time you load the plugin,it performs a basic automated sort of your morphs, stores it as apreset called “sorted”, and loads that preset. It's not perfect, but it's a good start on a coherent and structured organization. There's also a preset that returns to the default Vam categories ifyou prefer.

Since Vam users are the types that like totinker with things under the hood, here's how the sorted preset isconstructed:

Inside Custom\PluginData\DJ\Organize Your Morphsare autosort .json files for male and female. Inside are a list ofcategories with a comma separated list of search terms.
For eachline autosort then:
1) creates the category, with the rootdirectory being made “Quick Access”
for each search term,
2)Search for categories with the search term in its name, and moves itsmorphs into the new category.
3) Search for any morph whose namecontains the search term, and move it to the new category.

Afterthat's finished, it loads the Expressions_male and Expressions_female.mop files. I found that autosort didn't work well for expressioncollections, so I did a quick manual sort and included the presets inthe plugin. Finally, it sorts the morphs within each categoryalphabetically without sorting or rearranging the categoriesthemselves.

If you edit the autosort files, know that ordermatters! Once autosort moves a morph once, it will not move itagain. So if you search “Head” and then “eyes”, the morph“Head – Eye Size” will be moved to the head category, not theeyes category. So you should search eyes, ears, mouth, etc, then atthe end search head to pick up head morphs the previous searchesmissed.

This isn't a perfect system. Some morphs will not becategorized, and some will be miscategorized. But it gets you wellon your way to a sorted morph collection.

VRFeatures

The VR UI

Whilerearranging your morph collection is best done running Vam on yourdesktop, the morph organizational presets you build in desktop can beused in VR. Functionality is pretty basic at the moment, but fullerVR functionality is planned for version 2 of the plugin.

-Presetscan be loaded and saved
-Checking the “Expand UI” checkboxadds a persistent morph category panel to the right of the UI.
-You can move morphs to anothercategory by dragging and dropping them with the “select” buttonfrom the morph panel to a category in the category side list. Onlyone morph can be moved at a time.
-Categories can be moved by draggingand dropping them in the right side categories panel.
-The only way to makemorph copies is to drag a morph to one of the green “Quick Access”categories. From there it can be dragged to any other category youlike.

What's NOT present:
-icons indicating a morph isa copy
-color coded slider bars to differentiate betweenmorphs and pose morphs. If you regularly use VR, you may want tomake separate categories for regular and pose morphs so you don't getmixed up.
-category creation, or any of the “right click”functions available in the desktop version.
-any of the otherquality of life changes made to the desktop UI.
