Greetings VAM Community,
I've been sitting on these for quite a while now since my last release, but I'm finally getting around to releasing them. These are based on ReShade version 6.6.0, which is the most recent as of posting these, but the last version may also work. Due to Halloween coming up soon and one of my favorite girls being Ada, I figured I would theme these presets around Resident Evil. I have figured out some new techniques, hence the new presets, but if you've used any of my previous presets you may notice some reoccurring shaders.
There are 5 total presets included in this release with varying levels of performance and graphics, which I will explain below.
I'm sure you've heard this before from others as well as myself, but I just want to remind you that these presets were made based on my preferences and may not be something you like. The best presets, just like mod lists, are the ones you make yourself. Of course, feel free to make changes as needed.
These were also made on a 4K IPS screen with a top-of-the-line PC, so I have not tested them on lower resolutions and cards below an RTX 5090 or RTX 4090 may struggle with the more taxing presets in complex scenes. I recommend using lossless scaling as well for frame gen.
If you need help setting up ReShade, please refer to my 2025 guide or other guides on the internet. You may need paid shaders from Marty Mods to get the full effect of these presets as well. Otherwise, some of the colors might be off due to how each shader messes with everything.
Here are the presets and a short description for each:
Ada Preset: In my opinion, the best preset of the bundle and also the most taxing. It uses multiple RT shaders, which sounds counter intuitive, but they actually don't really conflict with each other. Mainly used for screenshots but can work with some scenes with movement.
X Preset: Probably the most balanced of the bundle, as it runs a little better than Ada but still retains a bit of RT and GI with a slight oily effect to try and hide imperfections.
Umbrella Preset: Decent performance and leans into the sketch effect that I've used in the past.
Uroboros Preset: An abomination of a preset that is more experimental than anything. Comic/Outline effects to the extreme. May be able to improve it later.
Performance Preset: A basic preset that doesn't have many shaders and only has a slight performance hit.
Also be sure to check the hotkeys for other alternate shaders.
VAM 1 is getting a little long in the tooth now but I'm eager to see the progress VAM 2 makes in the next year or two and will definitely be making ReShade presets once it hits more milestones.
I'd like to thank everyone who has tried out any of my presets in the past and I hope you find some value with these.
Special thanks to Skynet for pumping out awesome models and for providing probably the best Ada model to date so please go check them out if you haven't already.
