Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

The decisive factor is always lighting, your models could have had a better presentation with better 3 point lightning on skin. Like everything else in 3d, Light determines the quality of the normal map. But as you say yourself, you learn all the time, the maps are great so nice work.
