What is new

- Facing reworked: Auto now derives the front from the body cues (nipple midpoint, mouth) and only falls back to the torso bones when no cue is usable; new Body cues only option; the cues are low-passed and sanity-checked, so a rig whose bone Z axis is 90 degrees off is corrected instead of being stuck on hold last.
- Use subject facing is now a master switch: it sits above Facing source, and unchecking it greys out (and really disables) the four facing rows - the front zone switches to the world direction too.
- Safer placement: when another character blocks the view the camera first nudges sideways and moves on early after 0.45 s of blockage; the eye-to-skin limit now measures the true nearest surface in 3D; the body is re-checked every frame and the camera is pushed out in 3D; every subject gets hard Max look-down / Max look-up limits (default 60/60, so a straight-down shot is impossible).
- New actions: cut to a named joint (head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, hip, plus next and previous) and cut to subject 1 / 2 / 3 (an un-enabled subject is enabled first).
- Complete presets plus older-preset compatibility: the four dropdowns and four newer options that used to be skipped are saved and restored now, and renamed values in old preset files are mapped instead of dropped.
- UI and diagnostics: the right-hand notes are one or two sentences each and match the on-screen labels; diagnostics add a per-stage timing breakdown, and Print diagnostics also writes the last 4 seconds frame by frame into the log.

Upgrade notes

- With Use subject facing unchecked, the front zone follows the world direction now (before, only the orbit ring was affected).
- No parameter changed, so old presets and scenes keep working; only Timeline bindings that reference actions by index need a check.
- A third-party UI translation patch can rewrite this plugin labels (this build does not fight it) - if a label looks wrong, try disabling the patch.
v1.16.0 (package version 3)

NEW Director Mode companion panel
- experimental: quick hard cuts inside a min/max window, adjustable cut chance
(0 = cut by hand only), a minimum hold after each cut, and optional per-cut joint / subject / close-up changes
(close-up distance is measured from the body surface). Hard cuts are exact - the camera stops exactly where it
lands - and a landing point can no longer end up inside the filmed character (body triggers count as body, checked
every frame and pushed out at limited speed). Every subject has hard Max look-down / Max look-up limits
(default 60/60), so a straight-down shot is impossible.

Front-facing fix: the front zone now always follows the subject's body (the orbit still follows it only with Use
subject facing ticked), and Front arc now defaults to 60 degrees. If a rig's facing does not match the real front
(the camera keeps ending up at the side), use the new per-subject Facing source and Facing offset (deg) - Print
diagnostics lists all three candidate directions and their difference, so you can pick one or copy the value.
Setting Front chance to 100% while calibrating is the quickest way to see it.

Preset fix: Load / Save / Default used to drop four dropdowns (Focus mode, Joint, Joint set, Orbit direction) and
four options added later (Max look-down, Max look-up, Facing source, Facing offset). All are covered now - please
re-save any preset you made earlier.

Also: new defaults (height 1.3m +/- 0.5, follow smoothing 0.15s, focus smoothing 0.2s, subject switch 10s +/- 5,
hold after cut 1s, close-up 0.5m, disable collision while directing on, target atom empty), the Director Mode
master switch is now bold green like Start directing, greyed-out sliders are fully non-interactive, and the body
collider cache is clipped to 3 m around the focus (lighter on weaker CPUs).
  • Presets — every tab now has Load / Save / Default, using VaM's own file browser (with a real Save button). A global preset holds the whole plugin (global settings + all three subjects); subject presets are portable to any subject. Plain JSON in Saves\PluginData\EZhustler\AutoCamDirector.
  • Adjustable front zone — the front-facing chance no longer parks the camera on one spot: those positions land at random inside a Front arc (deg) you can set (0–180°).
  • Pitch offset (deg) — new companion to Look height offset: metres keeps the aim point on a body part at any distance, degrees keeps the framing constant at any distance.
  • "Use subject facing" now really follows the character — the orbit and the front zone are anchored to the character's torso direction, so turning the character turns the shot; when a pose makes the facing ambiguous (lying down, bent over) the last known direction is held instead of snapping.
  • Noticeably smoother motion — no more sudden pitch lift after each position change; the orbit now eases in and out on every axis; avoidance no longer cancels its own speed limit, no longer drags the camera up/down, and no longer bursts forward after being blocked; resuming from a pause no longer teleports.
  • Fewer micro-stutters — removed a periodic ~200 KB/s garbage spike (preset change-detection) plus several per-frame allocations.
  • Clearer panel — settings that cannot take effect in the current combination are greyed out, and the preset line reads factory defaults until you change something.
  • Renamed & retuned — People block camera → Person atoms block camera; calmer defaults (height 1.5 m, height random 0.1 m, 8 orbit positions, angle random 5°, follow smoothing 0.25 s, focus smoothing 0.3 s, front chance 70 %).
  • Presets/scenes saved with 1.13.x still load (unknown keys are skipped).
