Animatis – A Lightweight Keyframe Animation Tool for Virt-A-Mate
Animatis is a simple, efficient, and easy-to-learn animation plugin for Virt-A-Mate.
It lets you create quick animations using minimal UI, clean controls, and a straightforward keyframe workflow.
This plugin is not intended to replace or compete with the advanced Timeline plugin.
Instead, Animatis focuses on being:
this is my first posted plugin ,so please do not be gentle and give me feedback wether good or bad.
The plugin is made with Ai. and not intended to be other than ,what i think, is an easier/simpler way of making animations relative fast.
From my testing i found nothing that did not work except the "record" button, but more about that further down.

(-The "Record" button is for now not in use as im looking into a different approach of recording the animation patterns-more about this might be posted at a later time.)

- Simple Add/Remove UI: Dropdown + Add button system similar to Timeline
- Timeline Scrubber: Visual timeline for viewing and navigating the animation
- Controller Animation: Animate all controllers (except hair)
- Morph Animation: Animate facial expressions and body morphs
- Keyframe Editing: Add, delete, and copy keyframes manually
- Recording: Select targets, press record, then move/change them
- Save/Load to File: Save animations to standalone files
- Animation Sequencing: Run animations automatically in sequence
- Long Animations: Up to 300 seconds per animation
- Transition Time: Smooth blending between animations
- Trigger Support: Can be called from other plugins via triggers
1. Install the Plugin
- Add the plugin to a Person atom
- Open the plugin UI
2. Add Controllers
- In === CONTROLLERS ===:
- Choose a controller from the dropdown
- Click Add Controller
- Repeat as needed
- Hair controllers are automatically filtered out
3. Add Morphs (Optional)
- In === MORPHS ===:
- Select a morph
- Click Add Morph
- Repeat as needed
- The list includes all available morphs
4. View Targets
- In === ANIMATION TARGETS ===you can:
- See all added controllers and morphs
- View keyframe counts
- Remove targets if needed
5. Create an Animation
Recording (recommended):
- Add targets first
- Click Record
- Move controllers / adjust morphs
- Click Stop when done
Manual keyframes:
- Add targets
- Move to a time on the scrubber
- Set poses/morphs
- Click Add Keyframe
- Repeat for more moments
6. Play Animation
- Click Play
- Adjust Speed
- Toggle Loop
7. Timeline Scrubber
- Drag to preview the animation
- Shows keyframes and current time
8. Edit Keyframes
- Add: Set pose → move scrubber → click Add
- Delete: Move to a keyframe → click Delete
- Copy/Paste: Copy at one time → paste at another
- Clear All: Remove all keyframes
9. Save & Load Animations
- Save: Save current animation to file
- Load: Load from file
- Files are stored in:
Custom/Scripts/Kimowal/Animatis/Saves/
10. Multiple Animations
- Click New Animation
- Switch between animations using the dropdown
- Each animation can have its own targets
