You might not believe it, but this is a screenshot from VaM. You might think, “Wait, that’s a real person!” but when you get closer in the game, you realize, “Oh, this is VaM after all.”

Mr. Uncle Burrito’s “VaM DLSS NR and DLAA Plugin” is amazing. Of course, NVIDIA’s DLSS image processing technology is what makes it so impressive in the first place, but when I first asked Claude, “Can this technology be applied to Virt-a-Mate?” Claude replied that it was probably impossible.

For many years, I’ve been researching how to make VaM characters look like real photos, but I’ve finally found the answer—or rather, the conclusion that it was impossible to begin with. Now, the process involves just two steps: First, ask Claude to recreate your appearance as a Virt-a-Mate character—the facial structure, eye position, size, and every feature—all “mathematically” identical to the photo. Then, use Uncle Burrito’s plugin, and a whole new world of possibilities opens up.

Also, before using the plugin, another important step is to use an image-generating AI (I think GPTimage2 is a good choice right now) to enhance the quality (and make it more realistic) of your character’s face textures. Based on my experience, the success rate for generating the correct textures is currently around 10–20%, but the resulting quality will easily surpass that of Genesis 8 and similar models.

DLSS is a dream plugin, but it doesn’t seem to be very effective if the source material isn’t good to begin with.
