VaM 1.x Browser Assist deleting doesn't work

I've installed the browser assist plugin (free version) and did everything as stated: activated it, ran the bat as admin so that it has the rights to delete files and restarted vam (as admin too).

But when I'm in the browser assist and choose scenes that I want to delete, hit delete and confirm it with the red button, nothing happens. Scenes persist, and do so after restarting too (not a visual bug). Any ideas?
