SoleStorm submitted a new resource:

Clothing Smoother - Smooth out low poly clothing - make it high poly!

Clothing Smoother
A lot of VAM clothing is mid to low-poly — up close you see flat facets and hard, angular edges, especially on tight or curved garments.
Clothing Smoother fixes that on the fly. It adds geometry to your clothing in real time on the GPU, rounding out faceted surfaces into smooth curves, the same idea as skin tessellation, now for clothing.

As well as smoothing - you can shade both sides of the cloth correctly lighting things like insides...

Applying shaders on clothing with translucence maps will nullify the semi-transparent effect of the alpha maps, adjust the alpha in the params tab will only expand or shrink the areas of the opacity, no grey scale of opacity. Hope it can be fixed.

Hey! Thanks for flagging that, and documenting it.
Keep an eye out for an update in the next day or 2 :)

This shader is such an absolute game-changer! Low-poly, blocky clothing has always been a pet peeve of mine up close, Finally, so many underappreciated clothing items actually look high-end and soft.

The only real downside is that we can't chain or stack it with other specialized shaders like the Custom Shader - Stocking/Pantyhose. If there were a way to combine that tessellation with the translucency and sheen of hosiery shaders, it would be a massive leap forward for VAM's visuals.

Thanks! Yeah I'm all too aware of this. It is a shame. Currently the problem is because a clothing shader replaces the vam shader when applied to clothing, rather than "hook into it". There's a moded plugin for "combining" but really it's just allowing one shader per material slot.
I have checked to see what can be done in terms of combining. But to be honest, it's not looking good :(.
What it will take is for authors of shaders to incorporate tessellation into their own. I might have an attempt at stocking shader with tessellation in the future though!

Ah, got it. That material replacement limitation is definitely a pain.

It’s a shame it works that way, but making a stocking shader with built-in tessellation is honestly a brilliant idea. If you end up giving it a shot, that would be amazing. Definitely looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
