    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

I'm already replacing my old UI. I'm leaving VR positioning adjustments for last. I'm glad docked UI has presets. It's going to help a lot.

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

This is what happens when I don't properly test things... Docked UI's VR option literally transforms a fixed UI (desktop) into a in-world UI. I thought it was simply fixing UI elements to different screen coordinates for VR. And then I turned the camera and they stayed in place, as in world...

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

Agreed. My scenes use some elements, but there's options to turn them off. If the user whishes it, he'll only see one button on the right bottom corner. Docked UI has a VR option for position. I can turn it on and I see the buttons switching positions, but since I have no VR headset, I have no...

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

Ah yes! The million dollar question. You can also somewhat phrase it as: do something you like or something others like (in general terms, not just talking about my UI conundrum). In games, and other things really, I tend to look at it this way: financial sucess is in the middle, uniqueness is...

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

It's a good warning. I know you're right about in world UI. And since I plan on releasing more scenes, I know I should make sure VR users could interact with buttons properly. But I can't stomach in world UI. Just can't. My pipe dream was setting up something with both desktop and VR and then...

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

I've download VamStory a good while ago, but it always seemed to me that it did way more than what I needed, so I've never messed with it. I've had a look after your comment. Maybe VAMS_Bindtocam is a way to do it? Anyway, I'll mess around with it a bit. Docked IU has a "use vr buttons"...

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

It does break the immersion, but I've always hated - at least in desktop - to change angles and then having to "hunt" for buttons. Still, if fixed buttons are not good VR practice I'll probably have to think of something. Most likely have a whole seperate UI and provide both choices. At any...

    VaM 1.x Fixed VR buttons

I have fixed screen buttons (as in a fixed UI) on my scenes and would like to make them usable in VR when I release them. Was suggested Docked UI plugin instead of canvas buttons one. Docked UI supports VR, but since I don't have a VR set, I probably can't match button positions on my end, and...

    Plugins + Scripts Timeline

There is. Can't recall the name of the option without looking at it, but cycle forces can disable the loop. Matter of fact, I've used a similar "technique" in a test scene, except the motion was directly controlled by mouse, and the cycle force would produce a resistance factor based on...

    Plugins + Scripts Timeline

Don't think it's possible, but I'm not an expert. What you can do is have the left-right loop and then apply a cycle force to the head, with the slider controlling the force, which would result in a back and forth motion.

    Scenes First visit (dynamic anim)

When I started messing about in VAM, I searched high and low for a way to fix buttons to the screen, instead of 3d space. Parenting to camera, various plugins, etc. When I tried canvas button, I said "this is it". I will have a look at DockedUI. If it allows both desktop and vr users to have a...

    Scenes First visit (dynamic anim)

Could you reference one of his scenes where he uses it? I checked his latest one, but the buttons were fixed. By fixed I mean if I turn the camera the buttons stay in place and leave frame. They don't act like say, a game's ui, or VAM's own ui.

VaM 1.x Atoms on and off by string

Relay work well. Button tells relay to turn everything off and then turn the approapriate elements on. This solution involves more CPU processing (I know, I'm splitting hairs on an atomic level, especially on this particular scene which is just a menu), but more importantly, it's much easier to...

VaM 1.x Atoms on and off by string

I've finished saving a solution. It's not elegant, but it works. The whole problem I had was somehow "saving" the elements that were turned on when menu clicking, so that the next click would turn those specific ones off, instead of each button having to turn everything off, and then the...

    Scenes First visit (dynamic anim)

Sorry guys. As mentioned, the scene is intended for desktop use. I can't even test vr, since I don't have a headset. The reason I use those types of buttons is precisely because it was one of the few plugins were buttons stayed in place no matter what. At least in desktop mode. You can try to...
