Not to insult your intelligence, but every step of this was followed?

- Go to python.org/downloads.
- Download the latest stable version (anything 3.8 through 3.12 works).
- Important: tick "Add Python to PATH" on the first screen of the installer. This is the most common trip-up.

yes, ive got python 3.12 installed and checked add to path when i was installing it, i tried older versions from 3.8-3.12 to no avail

yes, that was coming from the external.bat file and not in vam

Understood. Glad we were able to connect on discord. Once we find the issue, I'll follow up here for posterity and for the rest of the VaM community.

At last! We did it. After a little back and forth, the issue was solved by the age old "uninstall Python, re-install python" method. No more errors, the Launchmaker.bat worked, and the plugin is cooking. Will check in tomorrow for an update.

But now, he's cruising.
