UIAssist (Free) - Alternative UI with shortcuts (e.g. switching the look of a gazed at person) and custom functions

UI Assist (UIA) is a plugin intended to enhance the usability of VAM – primarily targeted at easier and rapid content consumption rather than content creation. Currently users principally interact with VAM content using the very extensive and complex VAM UI screens and menus. Whilst comprehensive, there are a lot of options, history and complexities that can make navigation slow.

UIAssist v1.3

Version 1.3 introduces new features for controlling other plugins and other minor enhancements:
  • Plugin Actions: Initialise Parameters - when triggering plugin actions, the UIA buttons can now configure other plugin parameters. For example, UIA can now drive acidbubbles timeline plugin by selecting an animation, it's speed and then playing or stopping the animation - all with a single button press. (see demo here:

UIAssist v1.4

Version 1.4 introduces the ability to spawn new Atom and additional preset options:
  • Ability to spawn new Atoms of specified type at custom location and with configurable presets and plugins. Location can be relative to another atom/node or the VR head or hands.
  • PATRONS ONLY: For all preset functions, UIAssist buttons can now optionally randomly select a preset from a folder or display the file selection dialog to allow the user to choose a preset from a specified folder.

UI Assist v1.5.0

UIAssist v1.5 now includes:
  • Gaze Assisted Select: Option to select from a list of Atoms and nodes that auto sorted to show selections closes to the users gaze direction first.
  • Hide and disable the red control nodes of person atoms - improves accuracy of selecting ‘on’ nodes with mouse or VR pointer
  • Buttons can now be configured to Load or Merge Load a scene
  • Buttons can now be setup to Load another UI Assist button configuration

UIAssist v1.8 Sneak Peak


Version 1.8 (coming soon) will introduce a new Active Clothing Editor that rapidly shows which clothing items are currently active on a person and allows you to switch them on or off (i.e. "Remove") and to toggle the Sim Undress state. When reversing Sim Undress it also Resets the sim - so clothing goes back to its default state.

  • Teleport Atom button - Instantaneously move an Atom to a specific location. Locations can be relative to another atom/node or the VR head or hands.
  • Move Atom button (VR Only) - Targeted Atoms can be moved by mirroring a VR Controller position and rotation. Click “grab” button to end move or hold “grab” button to pause movement.
  • Button to Toggle Performance Monitor
  • Button target options can now use standard VAM Selected Atoms

  • Custom Target Groups - allows buttons to be targeted at atoms of a specific type and/or name pattern
  • Session & Scene plugin targets - plugin actions can now be applied to Session and Scene plugins
  • Option to spawn a new Atom when applying a general preset to a non-person Atom.
  • Option to specify the Atom name when spawning a new Atom. Can be combined with Custom Target Groups to spawn atoms that will then be included in a Custom Target Group e.g. Sex Toys.

Thanks. Could have sworn I'd looked through all of them but somehow missed it. Haha.

Another question:
Can your plugin do what MacGruber's Outliner does? Outliner is working but it blocks the view, needs more categories, and is unuseable with long lists of items.

Hmmm, I've never heard of that plugin and cant find any details about it on VaMHub.
